Absolutely. I'm using a first generation Air with Leopard (recently upgraded to Snow Leopard). The Magic Mouse works perfectly on either OS. Scrolling up and down, as well as paging forward and back is amazingly smooth, and it responds better than any scroll wheel. Also, the Magic Mouse tracks a hundred times better than my wireless Mighty Mouse ever did.
This is one mouse that Apple actually got right.
One warning: Some folks found it uncomfortable to use. It's long and low, and the top edge is kind of sharp. I guess it depends on your hand shape and how you use the mouse, ergonomically speaking. All I can tell you is that it is a very good match for my big stubby mitts. Your mileage may vary.- Answered by Rick A from Wesley Chapel

Best AnswerYes, Bluetooth and Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6 (or Leopard 10.5 w/software updates) are the only requirements for Apple's new Magic Mouse.
A 13" Macbook Pro meets those requirements.- Answered by Charles R from Redmond

Would you recommend it to someone who is an occasional gamer but mostly surfs the web?
- Asked by Jose R

AnswerOh yeah, totally. The "momentum" scrolling feature is just superb. Feels like scrolling on an iPhone of iPod Touch. For your gaming needs, I might recommend MagicPrefs which allows you to fully customize the multi-touch features of the Magic Mouse. Because, it doesn't have a physical second button, some games I play lose much of their functionality because of that. In MagicPrefs, you can activate a touch-to-click feature that restores that the clicking wonder :)

Best AnswerYES YOU CAN! Just go to System Preferences>Mouse and activate the secondary mouse button, then go to System Preferences>Expose & spaces and in the middle portion of the screen you can choose to set your secondary mouse button to open dashboard (or it can open expose). You have to follow this order or it won't work. I know this works, I've done it (On a late 2009 iMac). The only issue is that your secondary mouse button loses its usual functions.

how will I know if I have wireless mouse software update 1.0?

AnswerFirst of all, this download is free for Mac if you don't have it. But if you do, the mouse icon in System preferences will be the Magic Mouse. Without it, the icon is a mighty mouse.

I have arthritic hands, will the majic mouse work for me? I have problems with the laptop's touchpad.

AnswerI share your disability and challenge with Mac's laptop touchpad. I have found the Magic Mouse very helpful overcoming the problem of crimping one's fingers to use the touchpad. I highly recommend you consider using the Magic Mouse. However, be certain your laptop meets the minimum requirements...
• A Bluetooth-enabled Macintosh computer
• Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 or
Mac OS X v10.6.1 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0
I have a early Macbook Air with v10.6.x and the wireless mouse software update on which it works perfectly.- Answered by Dennis P from Champaign

Would this mouse be suitable for gaming? I have an iPhone, and each time i tap there is a 'delay'. Would this mouse be fast enough?
- Asked by Bernard W from Chatswood
- Oct 20, 2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerIt depends on the gaming you plan on - if you are playing Call of Duty, or a similarly intense game, you might find being unable to use left and right click independently a bit challenging There will be no noticeable delay from a normal click to action, and the touch interface should be just as responsive. Once again though, if you plan on hardcore gaming, i would highly recommend a Razor, Microsoft, or Logitech mouse for the ease of use and game play compatibility. All these companies have very good mouse products, and will be compatible with OS X. If you are playing bejeweled, you'll be just fine with this :)

My computer doesn't have built in bluetooth support. Do I need an adapter or something for this mouse?
- Asked by Aaron G from Dallas
- Nov 3, 2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerYes unfortunately you will need a Bluetooth adapter plugged into you machine for this mouse to work.
If you are using a laptop then you could use the USB type that are actually quite small.
I have one and apart from the USB plug that is inserted into the computer the part that actually sticks out of the side of my laptop is only 10mm * 5mm * 5mm
I have it working under Windows XP as my MacBook has Bluetooth.
The default code I used was 0000 for the Bluetooth security connection.- Answered by Lewis H from Baldock

Answer
Yes, it works with Leopard (providing it is updated to 10.5.8, and the mouse update is added to support the touch). It works with any Mac running Leopard, providing the Mac has Bluetooth.

magic mouse required for Lion?
My Mac desktop has the older mouse with the roller ball on top (model A1197).
Will the Lion operating system require the Magic Mouse to perform all the (new)
functions described?

Best AnswerAll the features of lion will be accessible through icons on the dock, or through keyboard shortcuts. However to get gesture support (e.g. Switching between fullscreen apps by swiping fingers sideways) a magic mouse or magic touchpad will be needed.

what if I don't have a Bluetooth-enabled Macintosh computer? What else would I need to buy(exact name please)?
- Asked by Michelle P from Murrieta

Best AnswerYou can use Bluetooth dongle for any Mac with Mac OS X. Google: Bluetooth dongle Mac. Many people report no problem with Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter.
If you have a Mac laptop, you might want to check out Micro Bluetooth USB dongle (any brand will do if it says Mac OS X compatibility). It's highly recommended because it is nearly invisible and doesn't stand out (meaning it's impossible to break the USB port by bending).- Answered by Jason B from New Westminster
