does magic mouse work with the new Ipad?
- Asked by Cameron S from Land O' Lakes

Best Answer
The iPad was not designed for, and is probably never going to support, mouse control.
As an iPad developer, I can tell you that everything in iPad is completely built around touch control.
Therefore, I think it is extremely unlikely that a mouse pointer will ever be supported. The only way that would happen would for specific Apps that could use a connected mouse - like drawing or other productivity applications, but never for the operating system or for the majority of Apps.
I personally believe it is far more likely that some next generation iPad will support special styluses to use on the touch screen, to accomodate more accuracy and perhaps even pressure control.- Answered by Stephan V

Should I turn off the magic mouse everytime I turn of my mac?
- Asked by David M from Kingston

Best Answer
Since the Magic Mouse knows when it is inactive and automatically reverts to a sort of "stand-by"mode , it conserves battery life and is, by Apple's standards, supposed to last 4 months like that. Your answer is no; although if your a paranoid-battery-life preserver like I am, I'd shut mine off every time:D

Answer
Go to system preferences, mouse and check your setting for double-click. You probably have it set at maximum or 100%. Reduce your setting to about three bars from the right. Your icon should now open when you double click.

Will the Magic Mouse run on rechargeable batteries, like lithium batteries?
- Asked by Steven S from San Francisco
- Oct 20, 2009

Best Answer
Make sure you check the rated voltage on your rechargeable batteries. I have Energizer NiMh AA's and the Magic Mouse will not work with them (two sets). After reading the posts here I checked and they're only rated for 1.2V, not the standard 1.5V. The mouse constantly connects and disconnects. I didn't have any issues with standard batteries.

I can't exactly say for sure, but I can say that I use my Magic Mouse all day and turn it off every night and it still has about a 70% charge after 7 months. The battery life is really good as far as wireless mice go.

How do I copy and paste with the magic mouse?
- Asked by Darryl & Kimberly C
- Feb 26, 2010
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
In the system preferences you can change the mouse settings so the mouse has a left and right click. Otherwise just select the thing you want to copy and press 'cmd C then cmd V' The mouse is very good at figuring out if you left or right clicked. Just experiment!

Why doesn't my magic mouse reconnect automatically?
In my office when I leave my desk with my MacBook Pro if I go far enough away my mouse disconnects which is fine because I don't have it with me. I don't close the laptop because I am just going to open it again as soon as I sit down. When I come back to my desk it never reconnects. I have to go to the bluetooth menu and tell it to reconnect. If I close the laptop when I leave at night it always reconnects when I come back the next morning.

Best Answer
It depends on how serious of a gamer you are. If you really want the best for gaming then look for a wired gaming mouse. If your just a casual gamer then yes this is a decent mouse, not the best but defiantly up there.

can you "right click" with this mouse?
- Asked by Jennifer D from Highland Park
- Dec 29, 2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
Yes. The mouse distinguishes between left and right clicks, even though there is no physical separation between the two. Secondary "right" click functionality for the right click can be configured in System Preferences > Mouse, or you can use the right click as a primary "left" click.

Laser tracking engine.
Magic Mouse features a laser tracking engine that’s far more sensitive and responsive on more surfaces than traditional optical technology. That means it can track with precision on nearly every surface with no mousepad required.- Answered by Mikol F from Ontario
