What would be an optimum surface for usage?
This isn't a question of what surface will or will not work as that becomes obvious immediately. I'm just curious which type of surface would be optimum as far as accuracy, the physical sound of the mouse sliding, etc. This isn't something that would matter for normal computer use but being in the design field requires the majority of my time using the mouse so minor things become major pretty quickly. :-)

AnswerI'm using it on a hard smooth surface which is free of foreign objects.
It is actually a glass desk without a mouse mat.
The need for the mouse to travel is somewhat minimised as I can now ues the gesture functions on the mouse for timeline adjustments in FCE and FCP.
Keep the surface free of debris as there is nothing worse than the crunching or screaching as a foreign object gets trapped under the mouse and draged all over the desk.- Answered by Lewis H from Baldock

Does microsoft office for mac work with magic mouse? Specifically, does the right click produce the short menus?

Best AnswerYes, it does, however you need to go to System preferences, Mouse, and enable Secondary click (Right), which is by default off.
Then clicking top right of the mouse will produce the standard right button click like nearly any other mouse.- Answered by Tomaz B

Best AnswerIt would be hard for you to work all day with magic mouse because you can't rest your hand on it often. I have a friend who is also a DJ, he prefers the old mighty mouse than this one.

Best AnswerThis question has been asked repeatedly, and there are plenty of answers you could read. To summarise:
Yes, this mouse works with Vista, but only the basic functions (mouse move, left button, right button). None of the advanced functions work.
Yes, this mouse works with the MacBook Pro 13. Because that MacBook uses Leopard or Snow Leopard, all the functionality of the mouse is available.- Answered by Antony R from North Sydney

Can you simultaneously right click and left click now?
- Asked by Nigameash H from Sackville
- Oct 20, 2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerClicking with two fingers placed on the surface of the mouse will only result in a left click (or right click depending on your custom settings). Magic Mouse does not support a simultaneous right and left click.
"The Mighty Mouse does not report whether the right and left sensor is activated simultaneously. In fact, it reports a right-click only when there is no finger contact on the left side of the mouse. This means that the Mighty Mouse cannot support mouse chording, used by CAD software, games, and other applications where multiple functions are mapped to the mouse."- Answered by David S

My current Mighty Mouse has two great side buttons that I use all the time to see all my open applications. Can I do that on the Magic Mouse?
- Asked by Matthew S from Bolton Landing
- Oct 22, 2009

Best AnswerNo. The Magic Mouse does not have the side "squeeze" buttons that the Mighty Mouse had. I'm hoping they replace this functionality with additional gestures, like on the MacBook Pro trackpads.

magic mouse required for Lion?
My Mac desktop has the older mouse with the roller ball on top (model A1197).
Will the Lion operating system require the Magic Mouse to perform all the (new)
functions described?
Thank you!- Asked by Virginia C from Altamonte Springs

Best AnswerAll the features of lion will be accessible through icons on the dock, or through keyboard shortcuts. However to get gesture support (e.g. Switching between fullscreen apps by swiping fingers sideways) a magic mouse or magic touchpad will be needed.
