Best AnswerCourtney,
I've been doing some research about this model number A1185, 10.8 volt. The battery you're looking at is aluminum so it's the wrong battery. The battery that matches your model is listed by Apple as the MacBook Rechargeable Battery MA561LL/A (white) or (black). It retails for $116. I've notices you can buy much less expensive off brands but people often complain that they don't fit or match in color, also if you want a good battery you want to buy lithium polymer like Apple uses in all of their products.- Answered by Erin M from Chugiak

i have an old macbook late 2008 model battery. my question is how many years is the life span of this kind?
battery life span

Best AnswerI have the late 2008 (October) aluminum Macbook as well (though I wouldn't refer to it as "old!). I still have the original battery, though it's definitely fading. In fact, that's why I'm looking at the reviews -- am thinking of buying one before Jan. 1.
So my battery, obviously, has lasted more than 3 years. I could get by, too, because I don't have to run it off the battery all that often.- Answered by Elizabeth O from Geneva

Is this the right battery for a late 2008 unibody 13'' macbook?

Best AnswerYes. The late 2008 unibody 13"macbook uses a 10.8 V 45 Wh battery part A1280. You can confirm this by simply removing the battery/hard disk lid and checking the fine print under the Apple symbol.

Best AnswerYes. Check the model number on your battery (not the computer). If it says A1280, you're all set. You really have to zoom in on the picture to see this.

i am in the market for a mac book pro. When the battery starts to lose power,do buy a new battery and have it installed at the apple store?
battery

Best AnswerYou certainly could... However replacing the batter in a Macbook Pro Unibody is as easy as brushing your teeth. There is a flip lever on the bottom which will let you remove a batter cover plate, under which is the battery. Just pull the plastic tab on the batter and drop the new one in and click the cover closed.
You probably should power down the laptop to change the battery but if your connected to a power cable then you could do it even without powering down.- Answered by Joshaven P from Hillsdale

is this for the 13 inch macbook pro????
- Asked by Alok G from Getzville
- Nov 15, 2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerNo, it is for the original Macbook 13-inch Unibody, the predecessor of the 13 inch Macbook Pro. The 13-inch Macbook Pro has a built-in battery that is much larger and lasts 1000 charge cycles as opposed to the Macbook 13-inch Unibody which has a small replaceable battery that lasts only 300 charge cycles.

It is fine to leave your system charging. I do it every day and my battery is fine. By design, your charger will not over charge your battery.

Is there an external battery that works with the Macbook Pro 13"?
I bought and just received my new Macbook Pro 13". When I bought it online, I also bought the external battery "assuming" it would work with this unit. I now realise, I think, what I bought will not work. (I have not yet received the battery, but the unit clearly is not made for a simple replacement. Is there an external battery that works with the Macbook Pro 13" I am now the proud owner of? Thanks in advance. JR
