What cable do I use to connect my IMac (IMac5,1) to an Olevia flat screen?
The manual describes the tv input as "VGA/ Audio input (PC) Port". I'm not sure what to get, though, to connect it to the imac. And will I need an adapter? I'm just not sure how it works. Please give me details.

Can this adapter work with a Dell 3400MP (Multimedia projector) with a VGA port?
- Asked by Hema S

Answer
It should work with any device with a VGA port; the important question is what port your computer has. If you have a newer machine (unibody MB/MBP and most later machines) that has a mini-DisplayPort, then it will work. If you have an earlier machine with DVI, Mini DVI, or Mini VGA, you will require a different adapter.

What would be the noticeable difference between connecting my 24" monitor to my MBP with a Mini DisplayPort->VGA vs. Mini DisplayPort->DVI?
I have always used a DVI cable to connect my computer to my monitor (with a DVI-I connection), but recently updated my MacBook Pro, and have realized that Apple has changed the connection they support. They only make Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D. The Apple genius at the store wasn't able to help me, or explain why they had made the switch. Right now I need to decide which connector to buy, and whether it makes sense to go out of my way to also get new DVI cables for my monitor setup.

Answer
I'd agree with Paul Moore. If you are in any way picky and/or knowledgeable about graphics, you will notice a fairly large difference. To me, the image using the VGA connection looks a little fuzzy, and the colors bleed a little bit. Not horrible, just noticeably better using DVI.

MacBook Pro can be connect to 37" TV by Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter
MacBook Pro can be connect to 37" TV by Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter
Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter ?
What is the maximum resolution for this case?
How is resolution of my macbook pro on instead of connected to 37" ? keeping macbook pro self setting?
Thanks- Asked by Francis S

Answer
Yes I believe it does. The max resolution through VGA is 1920*1080.60Hz.
If you have duplicate screen on, both screens will display the same thing with your Macbook's resolution. If you have extended desktop, both screens will run at their native resolutions. Otherwise if you only use the 37" screen as the main screen, it will run at native resolution.- Answered by Scott G
