I have a mac book, 3 years old. I want to burn a dvd from my from idvd project. My mac tells me I can not burn unless I have a superdrive.
Do I Purchase an external DVD drive? or does apple have one specific for the macbook?

No. Like all slot-loading drives, this unit can only be used with full-size 12cm (5 inch) discs, not the 8cm (3 inch) mini DVDs or CDs.

Can this be used on a PC?
I currently use an iMac and a MacBook Pro, but occassionally, for various reason I might want to use it with my HP Mini netbook.

NO. MacBook Air and Mac Mini Server only. Due to the way the drive is powered from the computer, only these two work with it.
...shame, I know. As if you want a second drive for other Mac laptops or iMacs (or even separate Windows machines), you have to use a third party manufacturers one instead, as only the MacPro takes more than one optical drive at the same time.- Answered by JS from Hove

This accessory does NOT work with the Mac Mini. (It does work with the Mac Mini Server.)

No. As noted in the product info, the MacBook Air SuperDrive is compatible ONLY with the MacBook Air and the new Mac Mini Server.
