No it will not work. I purchased one and it did not work. I assumed the cables were defective so I returned them and was able to test some more brand new official Apple cables and it still does not work.
Apple has a web page that says the cables work with the late 2009 3rd gen Ipod Touch but when called the first time I was told the cables should work. When I called after testing them and they did not work another Apple Tech confirmed that they won't work and that Apple may offer some compatible cables in the future.- Answered by WW from Waterloo

Best Answer
Currently the answer is no as Sky Mobile TV player app has been blocked from giving a TV out signal which was confirmed by Apple Tech Support . This cable WILL let you project a movie , youtube videos & you can also use this to watch BBC iplayer though I was only able to get audio on the Sky Mobile TV player app .

There is a noticeable difference between component and composite. Use Component if your TV offers this connection. The cables are the same price so no difference here.

CAN I VIEW MY TV SHOW FROM MY IPOD TOUCH TO MY TV?

YES! whatever videos you can watch on your ipod will be viewable on your TV... it's kinda like hooking up a dvd-player or vcr or video game. the only difference is that you can't see your playlist on your television screen...
you still scroll thru your playlist by looking at your ipod or iphone's screen, but when your video starts playing, the tiny ipod screen shuts itself off while your video (and sound) are now being played thru your TV.
pretty cool actually to see a movie designed for a 2 inch screen blown up to a 30+ inch screen. Usually the quality is quite surprisingly good for the amount of magnification.- Answered by KW from Birmingham

Best Answer
The best connection is through the Universal Dock using a 3.5mm cable to connect to the Aux input on the Bose Radio. This will charge the iPod and allows remote control. You can also use a 3.5mm cable from the headphone out to the Bose Aux in.
