Do you have to back-up all of the computer's info. before installing this module?

AnswerNo. This is R.A.M (Random Access Memory) which is the volatile memory that is lost every time your computer shuts down. These circuits store information in statically charged pockets in the silicon of the chip. When you shut down your computer properly, anything in memory needed to be kept is copied out of ram to your disk or non-volatile memory. When you power down to remove the old memory module it will already be empty. Therefore it is not necessary to back anything up before removing it.

Can I put 4 GB RAM 1067 MHz into a Mac that now has 2GB of 667 MHz ?

AnswerNo because 1067 Mhz Ram is DDR3 ram, and 667Mhz Ram is DDR2 Ram and there is a physical difference between the two. As a result, the DDR3 will not fit into the DDR2 slot.

Best AnswerIdeally you should take out the memory you have an insert
2X Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM taking it to 4G
But that is often harder to find and more expensive
You are *probably* safe with
2 X 2 GB 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM
I inserted one of these today and it worked fine- Answered by David B from Sarasota
