I need an extension that will work with SQUARE credit card reader? will this work

AnswerI have found that the problem is not with square or trying to find an adapter. What I realized is the fault lies with otterbox. They make the plastic guards which surround the headphone jack too tall to allow the square to plug in. So what I did was to take a razor sharp knife and shave a little off those plastic guards. This allowed the square to plug in and work perfectly and the rubber cover still completely closes on the case. I think otterbox should fix their product as I'm told people have had problems with their headphones as well due to the same issue.

Will this adaptor work with Mobuyle Credit Card Reader?
I purchased an OtterBox protection cover with my iPhone and I'm trying to attach a Mobuyle Credit Card reader to it but the case prevents total connection. So I need an adaptor to extend the 3.5mm receiver to accommodate the Mobuyle device. Will the TTY adaptor work in this application?

TTY is an abbreviation for TeleTypewriter. It's a device used by the deaf to "text" messages across an analog telephone line. These days, text messaging has just about obsoleted the device however it remains well-suited to the task.
Because the TTY was originally designed for an analog phone system it worked very much like an analog modem; converting "text" into "sounds" that were then re-interpreted back into text at the receiver's end. Both parties of the conversation would have to have a TTY machine.
This adapter allows a person to connect a TTY machine to the "analog" audio input and output of the phone.- Answered by Eric P from Dunedin

AnswerWhile this is an adapter, it is an adapter for a smaller sized jack. Belkin makes the adapter you are looking for which is a 3.5mm to 3.5mm adapter. It essentially extends the 3.5mm jack out of the aluminum depression while THIS one is a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter.

AnswerSorry, this adapter is for connecting the iPhone to a TTY (a device used by the hearing impaired to communicate in a manor similar to instant messaging). I found what you might be looking for, but Apple doesn't allow you to post links :-(. Silly Apple!:-)

How does this equipment actually adapt an iPhone to the TTY's primary function of sending/receiving text in telephone medium?
I.e., does this adapter allow those who are deaf or have a hearing impairment to type from their iPhone directly to another TTY (as usually a TTY user would type directly to another TTY user)?
Other information regarding this device seems to mention audio input/output, but clearly if you are deaf, that isn't necessarily be a very helpful option. Since the object of TTYs is to infact eliminate the need for hearing during the conversation, just wondering exactly how this adapter works.
Any responses appreciated - thanks!- Asked by Kathleen T from Lane Cove

AnswerNo. A cell phone that is TTY compatible (like iPhone) must still plug into a TTY unit. All TTY units plug into a phone line, but some also plug into the 3.5mm jack of a cell phone. This adapter just allows the 3-ring TTY plug to work with the recessed 4-ring iPhone jack.
But with all the apps out there, there may be one for TTY emulation that would allow you to type directly from the iphone's keyboard to another TTY. After all, TTY isn't much more than than ancient IM-type communication with extremely low speed (45.5 Hz?).- Answered by Jim A
