No, there are manufacturers that sell small velcro pouches to hold the sensor. I have one I use with my favorite pair of Asics. I just velcro the strap through the laces. I actually prefer this to using it in the insole because I don't have to disassemble the shoe after each run to turn off the sensor.

Why the need for sensor when Iphone 3gs has a reall gps?
I am wondering the question above. The sensor needs to be calibrated, yet a real GPS is available in the Iphone 3gs. Is it not possible to use the programme only with GPS?

This sensor does not use GPS Technology. The Sensor is simply an accelerometer that measures how long your foot is in contact with the ground. It has long been known that the amount of time your foot is on the ground is inversly proportional to the speed at which you are running. Hence the calibration.

Is it compatible with iphone 3G? (not 3GS)?
I see that only the iphone 3GS is in the compatibility list - I understand it has built in support for Nike + without the adaptor. But would the iphone 3G work with the sensor if I purchased the kit?
