Is there a battery? How long does it last? Is it chargeable/replaceable?

Best AnswerThe Sports kit comes with the sensor that goes into your shoe, and the reciever that goes into your ipod.
The sensor is what contains the battery - unfortunately the battery cannot be replaced. Good news is - I got a good 5-6 months out of my sensor before replacing it; and you can buy the sensors individually (without the receiver) for around 19.99 I believe? :)- Answered by Aileen D from Fort Mcmurray

How about iphone 3G need the receiver? How does it work? Where the power come from?
- Asked by Nelson L from Kuchig

AnswerWell, the receiver is built into the 3G and 3GS. All you need is a sensor, which you can buy separately. As far as how it works, the Nike+ receiver gets the radio signal from the sensor in the shoe (or pouch) and computes the mileage, pace, time and calories. The sensor has a little battery in it.

Is there a software upgrade that can be loaded for a 1st generation Ipod Touch to allow it to work with the Nike sport kit?

AnswerSadly, no. It is a hardware limitation. The first gen touch does not support Bluetooth, which is used to communicate with the sensor. You would have to replace the WiFi card inside the device to fix this. I don't know if it is possible with your device to use the reciever to communicate with the sensor. You would have to be willing to spend an extra $10 just to see if it would work or not. It's up to you....
