Best Answer
The answer will depend upon the version of your MacBook Pro and the available input on the projector.
1. Determine which video out connector your MacBook Pro has. DVI was common until the recent change to the Mini-Displayport.
2. Determine the input options on the projector. Most every projector does VGA. Some also do DVI.
3. Purchase the correct adapter from the Apple Store for your Mac and your projector. For example on my MacBook Pro and with my projector that supports DVI, I bought a DVI to DVI extension cable. For my MacBook Air and the projectors I encounter while on the road, I bought the Mini DVI to VGA adapter for the MacBook air and a VGA to VGA extension cable to connect to most any projector.- Answered by DC from Newmarket

Will this adapter work in combination with the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter to output with proper resolution from the 2009 MBP to Svideo?
Currently I'm using a PowerBook G4 to output video to TV via Svideo. Can I produce the same results using these 2 current products and the 2009 MBP?

Is there a table that could be referenced for figuring out what adapter will work with what Apple machine for projectors, HDtvs etc?
We have classrooms with XGA (1024x768) projectors in them that we can connect our computers to. The technical support has adapters but everytime I bring my laptop, the adapters they have available doesn't seem to make the projector work with my MacBook Pro. I have had 2, each requiring a different adapter to make the projectors work. Is there some table that can be referenced to look up the appropriate adapter?
