AnswerAccording to their website it cannot charge the device while the battery pack is charging.

AnswerYour iPad has a battery over 11k mAh, while the Juice Pack only has a 6k mAh battery. This would only charge your device to about 50%, if that.

In comparison to the mophie iphone 5 case, which one will provide my iPhone with the most power?
I am going overseas soon and I want to buy something that extends my battery as much as possible, I am happy to buy either the case or the juice packs. thank you!

Yes. It has a USB connector, so you'll need your Lightning to USB cable that came with your iPhone 5 or through various adapters. Best to pop into a retail Apple Sore, they will give you options to also charge other USB iDevices.
