Will this product be compatible with the Macbook pro/ Macbook air?
I know this uses bluetooth technology and both the Macbook Pro and Air have bluetooth in it, however, these two products aren't listed under the compatibility section.

Best AnswerI just bought the JBL FLIP with a goal of pairing with my iphone and macbook pro.
However the iphone paired easily but the macbook pro would not, the wheel kept spinning looking for a device. I finally gave up and decided to head back to the Apple store. First I went to my barber for a haircut and was discussing the pairing problem. He had a bluetooth device (not JBL)and the instructions said the hold down the on/off switch until you see the pairing take place. I went home and tried this and it worked. I can now pair to my iphone and macbook pro. I have to say that the instructions for the JBL are horrible. Shame on them. So to pair just click on the bluetooth inon on the top bar then click on "Set up Bluetooth device" - Now turn on the JBL and hold the power button down until you see the message on the laptop that the JBL FLIP is paired. Now enjoy the sound from the JBL. Hope this helps. And thanks to my barber :)- Answered by Ed N from Carmel

Is it compatible with FaceTime/Skype calls on my iPad 2?

Answeryes it is.
It works same as regular bluetooth phone calls where you see your audio options to switch device. But the pain point is, the JBL (Or any mic/speaker device) should be closer to your ipad/iphone while doing facetime/skype calls. This is how I used it.
I called my parents in facetime while my iphone is connected to JBL. You will see audio options in place where you have mute button. (bottom left) When you select that you can either choose "speaker" which used ipad/iphones speaker and mic, or choose JBL then it used JBL's speaker and mic.
The speaker is not right next to me but within 3 feet away from where I was sitting. While I could hear my parents alright, they said my voice lagged when I spoke. I switched my audio to "Speaker" then they could hear me alright.
I wish I could use iphone/ipad mic alone instead of JBL's mic and speaker coz you will have to keep both phone and speaker closer to you when you speak to avoid lag. I do skype calls from my samsung TV where I sit atleast 5-6 feet away from my TV, and never had voice lag.
Great speaker for the price your pay.

Can I leave the battery on continuous charge?

AnswerYes. I think so. The charge light does go off when the unit is fully charged. But here is my thinking and I am not sure: I doubt it is a smart charger in the sense that I think it will still consume power when the Flip is fully charged. My understanding is some smarter chargers (e.g. the newer generation iPad ones) will cut off or greatly reduce its power consumption when the device is fully charged. So when I am not sure, I turn off my power bar to avoid wasting electricity to feed the power supply unnecessary.

AnswerJust bought JBL Flip. It sounds great!! pairs well with IPhone 4S. Will not pair with my MacBookAir. Disappointing but not a deal breaker. Mini to Mini plug works just great. Still Disappointing because it makes little sense to me since my Air has Bluetooth.
