Best AnswerI have both types of cases on my MBP Retina and MacBook Air and both fit fine together. The neoprene is more protective for impacts such as dropping but the Speck Smartshell is better for scratches. Depends on which is more problematical for the way you use your devices.

will this case fit my macbook 13" mid 2008? it's the aluminium one, not the white one.
I have bought a macbook in 2008. It's the only macbook in aliminium, all the other macbooks are white. I want to know if this case fits my macbook because it only says macbook pro.

You have to find one made for your specific model. Speck.com can help you determine which one. If your device doesn't have a latch mechanism, I believe this one, the current one, would fit.

Best AnswerIt doesn't directly lead to overheating.. I'm still able to use it on a day-to-day basis with no problems.. Its just that theres an increase CHANCE of it heating up (not overheating) if you do something intensive...
In terms of cooling.. as it is plastic if the laptop is hot it will take longer to cool down as plastic retains heat.. but it will cool overtime..- Answered by Alvi C

AnswerI have used these cases since buying my first MacBook Pro in 2007. I have never had one scratch any of the 3 MacBook Pros since or either of the ones I have purchased for my two MacBook Airs. I just take them off periodically and clean up any dirt or particulate matter that has accumulated! Even after the six + years of having one on my first MacBook Pro the outside case looks like new!!

Fairly durable usually only shows small cracks on the corners. Speck has a one year factory warranty and is very good about promptly replacing any damaged items no questions asked!

AnswerIt's a crystal clear, completely transparent, glossy case. It simply looks like there is an added glossy layer on top of the aluminum finish of the macbook pro.

Can you still use this if you have a skinit?
I want to have a skinit on my MBP but i still want the protection of a case. Since this is suppose to be transparent i'm hoping to have the protection of the case and the skinit show through. So will the case still fit with a skinit on the Macbook pro?

AnswerNo, this is the 13 inch model but there is one for the 15. I can't post the link here but if you go to the store, there is one for 15 exact replica just made for the 15.
