What does this program offer that Iphoto does not have?
I Photo is a very very basic photo program. I have used a full version of Photoshop in the past. When I read the description of Photoshop Elements 11 I don't see any difference between it and I Photo. Am I missing something? Can Photoshop Elements 11 do more to the photos than I Photo?

iPhoto, is a very "basic program"- yes it is.
But if you compare them:
iPhoto, has only some functions.
These are the mains: quick fixes, effects and adjusts. This App is only for quick changes.
Photoshop elements, has their own one by one tools you use specifically. If you want to make collages or merge effects. Or adjust a picture specifically at a higher colour tone.
Photoshop is also, very manual, compare to iPhoto.
Example:
To make a Photoshop album with four pictures , you would have to find a lot art work, and you would have set them up piece by piece.
In iPhoto, the templates for making a album are already there, but you have limited choices. At least you do not have to do all the work. If you are making a Book, album or a calendar etc. the iPhoto will help you publish this as well, by telling you how much it will cost, and the rest of the order procedure.

I highly prefer, that you look into the App called Aperture. it is a Apple developed App, which is a big brother of iPhoto, just slightly advanced.- Answered by Samad G

Will it batch process raw files
Will it process a large number of files from raw to j .peg or tiffs.
I have elements 8 and I can only process a raw if I open it then adjust then turn into a j. Peg.
I am looking for this photoshop to work like the cs photoshops so you can select raw files without fully opening them , adjust and save as j. Peg / tiffs as many as you like at one time.
Many Thanks

Best Answer
Yes. You can process multiple files in the Camera Raw dialog box - Go to File > Open and select all of the files you would like to edit. In the Camera Raw dialog, all opened images will appear in a filmstrip on the left. At the top is a "Select All" button. Click this. Now, all edits you perform to the file in front of you will also be applied to the other images.

Can I crop an object out of photo and add it to another photo
I want to close crop a person from 1 photo and add it to another
- Asked by Delphine P from Lakefield
- Oct 23, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
Yes. You can use a selection tool, such as the Rectangular Marquee, to designate the area you want to crop out. Then you can use Edit > Cut to remove this portion of the image. This will put that portion into the system clipboard. Then you can go to File > New > Image from Clipboard which will automatically create a new image the size of the cut portion and paste that into the image. All you will have to do is save the file.

Can I crop an object out of photo and add it to another photo without getting any of the background from the previous photo?
Example: I have an image of a patio set, but there is a background. I want the background to be white. I want to see every part of the patio set, but none of the previous background, including between the legs of the patio set.
- Asked by Crystal B from Milton

Answer
You can use the many different selection tools (each tailored to creating a specific kind of selection) in combination to isolate the patio set from the background. Then you can copy and paste this selected area onto a new, blank white canvas. Or, you can inverse the selection (so the background is selected but the patio set is not) and then delete the selected area (the background) and/or fill it with white.

Answer
I assume you are wondering about automated watermarking options (as watermarking can really be done with any image editing applications that supports things like Type and Transparency/Opacity/Visibility).
For automated watermarking, you can use File > Process Multiple Files. There is a Labels section that allows you to type in Custom Text, choose it's relative position (e.g. Bottom Left), the font and its size, opacity, and color. You perform the Process Multiple Files command on a folder of images at a time (this can include any subfolders within the selected folder).- Answered by Brett N from Beaverton
