Is this compatible with Snow Leopard and iPhone 4S with iOS 601 ?
I do have MountainLion (10.7) on and working on an external HD but I don´t want to upgrade my Snow Leopard (10.6.8) due to the lack of support to PPC (many of my Logic plugins !).
Strange that it works with an old iPhone and iOS but not with an old OSX !!
So am I left to the iPhone 4S iOS 601 and Amplitube ? No more iRig ?- Asked by Silke M from Berlin

Can we get more details about the Apple exclusive Squier Strat?
For instance: manufacturing location, woods used, pickup specs, color options, etc. Even with the great feature of plugging directly into an Apple device, tonal properties are still important to many guitarists.

When using the 1/8" headphone jack does the pickup's volume level act as an amp's gain stage before the headphone jack's volume control?
Looking to find out if there is any overdrive potential when using the built in headphone jack, if it is strictly a clean tone with no EQ controls, or what...
- Asked by Jim R from Aliso Viejo

Answer
Hi Jim,
The pickup volume level determines the input level that goes into your app. This works just like it would when plugging it into a real amp.
The headphone volume control on the guitar controls the overall output volume that comes from your iOS device or Mac.
Please keep in mind that the headphone output jack works in iOS/USB mode, meaning the headphone amp is a amplifier and needs to be powered. There will be no output of the headphone jack if it's not plugged into a iOS device or Mac.

Is this a MIDI guitar? Or the USB is just for guitar sounds?
- Asked by Jesse S from Woodbury

Answer
Hi Jesse,
This is not a MIDI guitar. The guitar audio signal is being digitized and goes directly into your iOS device or computer via the supplied cables. You can also monitor what your playing along with backing tracks since the built-in audio interface in the guitar is bi-directional, meaning it transmits and receives audio.
Hope this helps.

Hi Michael,
On the iOS device every app that supports the 30-pin connector, or when using the 30-pin to lightning adapter from Apple, i.e. GarageBand, the latest version of AmpliTube, etc.
On the Mac side, every program that supports Core Audio, i.e. GarageBand, Logic, Live, etc.
