AnswerYes, but not if you're banging it around. I think this sleeve was designed to be low profile so it doesn't take up too much space in a purse, and you can carry it from point a to point b. If you want something more for protection, you won't want a sleeve, you're going to want more of a fully enclosed case like the ones marc jacobs makes (designed for macbook pro but fits the macbook air).
