How does this updated case fit both the regular MacBook Pro and the Retina version?
I was wondering how this case is made to fit both the regular MacBook Pro and the Retina version, which is significantly thinner and smaller in dimensions. Apart from the fact it has an adjustable strap, what will stop it from moving around, say from side to side, when the case is closed? Clearly it must have extra room to accomodate the chunkier regular MacBook, so I don't see how this case can properly *fit* the Retina version and give glove-like security.

I did buy the Thule 13'' Gauntlet 2.0 Thule for my 13'' Mac Book Pro w Retina based on the comment made by Dawson W from Phoenix (looking at his various comments it seems he is woring for Thule. I have just returned it.
The Mac Book Pro does NOT fit. It is loose and moving around (especially vertically). Watch out for something else!- Answered by Christina G from Zürich

Yes, that should be no problem. Hardshells add minimal thickness (about 3mm) to the computer and the Gauntlet 2.0 sleeve is engineered with angled panels at the top and bottom of the case that snugly grip the computer with enough flexibility to easily adjust to the increased dimensions of a MacBook Pro with a shell cover.

What is the difference between the Thule 13" Gauntlet Sleeve for MacBook Pro and the Thule 13" Sleeve for MacBook Pro?
I looked at the Thule website and the only sleeve product they had listed was the Gauntlet Sleeve, however the photo for this was that of the sleeve listed simply as the Thule 13" Sleeve. I am a little confused about the difference in these products as the outer of one is foam and the other fabric, so I just wanted to see if anyone knew the differences in protection offered by each. Many Thanks!

Answer
The Gauntlet sleeve that is listed on the Thule website is the first generation product, and the Gauntlet 2.0 sleeve on Apple.com is the second generation product. There are a few main differences between the 2. The first generation product does not have a velcro closure on the elastic strap inside the sleeve, and the second generation does. The contouring on the second generation is also improved to fit the newer model MacBooks and it allow for better airflow around the computer.

Is the strap re-designed as well? With the old version it was hard to open the clamshell and use the laptop since the strap was in the way.

Answer
I'm not sure how the strap is on the older model, but this one has a strap, but it has velcro on the end, so you don't have to remove the laptop from the side before using it in the case.
