can I simply transfer my current win7 environmet to a new mac book pro with parallels and have all my windows software work? is porting easy or hard?
I have a high performance pc based laptop with lots of software and am considering a high performance mac book. I really really don't want to have to do a windows install, then do a autocad install then do a microsoft office install then .... etc etc etc.

I ported my Win 7 complete with all its applications, and everything works, including MS Office. I used an external disk to do the port, which took about an hour in total, following the good instructional steps in Parallels. I moved my data separately, and sat it all in my Mac folders, so I had to change some default 'save' settings in Office etc. I had to go online to re-validate Win 7. Copy and paste between Windows and OS X apps works beautifully.

i have imac 2012 with osx 10.8.3, will parallels desktop 8 for mac work with windows XP and autoCAD LT 2007?
i own xp and autoCAD LT 2007 and just use it to draw projects for my own family projects..... it would probably be the only thing i will use windows for?

I got the Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac Student License, it asks for activation key when installing
The activation key is not on the box that came, and it tells me I'm using a trial version. How do I get the license no?

What is the difference between international english and multi-language pack.
I am referring to Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac - Standard Edition. Since multi-language version also contains English besides other languages, why is International english version much more expensive than multi-language version?

Because not all programs are available on mac yet. So for some people if you want to do your work on a mac but the program is not available then this is the only way. As I've found out doing my uni work.

Yes, you can run MS Publisher in Parallels Desktop 8. I just checked the Parallels Forums and Parallels Knowledge Base and there are no issues reported with Publisher.

The standard and educations versions are the same. The education version may require some additional validation of student/academic status (e.g. university ID card, university/college/school email) to gain the discount.

I have a client (I'm an Accountant) who is running QB's 2013 latest release on their MacBook Pro - they do payroll etc. without problems. Lower versions of QB's may not run well though.
