On several other printers, and on the one I have now (Canon Pixma) the scanner function simply does not work. Does anyone know if this one works?
I want to be able to put something on the glass, hit "scan" and have a PDF show up on my computer. So far I see a lot of printers that are supposed to be able to do that, but the reviews say they don't. I'd like a printer that will do this rather than having to buy a separate scanner.

AnswerI had a similar problem with a HP Photosmart. I found that it was easier to open "Preview" in the computer and from the file menu select "Import from scanner" than to work from the printer.

Best AnswerIf it has wifi capabilities. It should work with the iPad, iPhone and any computer or desktop via wifi, must be used with a wifi router.
I personal have the the HP desk jet printer 3522.. it is a Printer, scanner, copier. I didn't need a fax machine. And yes, I use the Verizon mifi jet pack as my router with my printer. It works wonderful.

AnswerThe printer has to be connected to a wireless network and your iPad has to be connected to that same network. You can't have wireless internet without a wireless router...unless you're using some other hotspot feature that provides wireless internet via cellular technology or something like that in which case both devices would still need to be connected to that network.

AnswerYes but it doesn't have an auto feeder so you have to load each page in by hand one at a time and then tell the printer when all pages are complete so it can finish creating the file. If you want to copy or scan multiple pages automatically, upgrade to the 7520.

Air printing is wifi printing. Apple calls it air print but it means the same just different words.
You send your printing over wifi via a router from your iPad iPhone computer or laptop. To your printer. No cables needed.
And yes you will need to have a wifi router of some sort. Weather your internet be wireless like verizon or cable Internet the routers still needs to be wifi.
Verizon wireless mifi jet pack will work as your router.
