AnswerYes - you just need the bluetooth connection between the iPhone and this. However even if you lose that the device still records distance which you can read later.

Will this work with 3GS of is there something like it for 3GS for cycling?
- Asked by David B from Wichita Falls

AnswerIt won't work with the 3GS because that phone doesn't have Bluetooth Smart. Get the Wahoo Bike Pack receiver for the 3GS and an ANT+ sensor instead.

If I use the SC Sensor with Cyclemeter, is Cyclemeter's GPS functionality supposed to work in conjunctionwith the Sensor?
Will I still get my route map and cycling data such as speed, average speed, ride time, stopped time etc, from Cyclemeter, which is obtained from the GPS?
- Asked by Frederik H from Melville
- Feb 6, 2013

AnswerYour speed and cadence as measured by the SC will be recorded in Cyclemeter. Your GPS location will also be tracked on the map in Cyclemeter because the GPS still keeps running. This is the best possible combination. The speed measurement from the SC is much more accurate than what is computed from the GPS. All of this happens automatically as long as your SC is correctly paired. The other stats like stopped time, average speed, etc. are all determined from the SC's speed measurement by the way. As a tip, also get an external Blueooth GPS for your iPhone like the Dual GPS to save battery life. Look it up.

Does it come with a mount for the bike?
- Asked by Carmen E from Chandler

AnswerThe sensor comes with heavy duty rubber bands that work well, but you'll need to purchase a separate handlebar mount for the iPhone (if you want to watch the data as you ride). As with the previous commenter, it takes some adjustment to make sure the sensor is reading your pedal and spoke magnet without the crank arm hitting it. Just fine tuning, though.

Do you have to turn the phone app on and off to record the rides? It sounds like you don't but I wanted to double check.
- Asked by Sara C from San Francisco

AnswerThere are different fitness apps like Cyclemeter that need to be actively running to record the speed and cadence data from the sensors while you're riding, so that you can view it on a graph or export it. But if you don't have your phone with you during the ride, the sensor itself will at least keep track of the total distance travelled and can then update Wahoo's own odometer app the next time the phone and sensor communicate again, but nothing more detailed.
