AnswerGood enough to block out conversations next to you. Tried them at store and couldn't hear anyone. Not sure if it will be good enough for airplane since its passive canceling versus active.

Does the white get dirty after a while? I'd rather have the black because I'm afraid that the white will get dingy.

AnswerBoth versions are fingerprint magnets on the ear cups but the black shows fingerprints more. I have the crystal pair and I can say that the headband does lose its finish over time, however the headphones come with "Headphone Shine" and a cleaning cloth from Monster which essentially restores the original look of the headphones.
