HOW CAN I MIRROR WITH MY IPAD 2 USING VIDEO INPUTS TO A PROJECTOR?
My ipad is a 2 and when using video inputs to a projector it does not give me the mirror option. When using HDMI it does offer mirroring, but I'd like to use it with a projector that does not offer HDMI? I would like to mirror using video inputs.

Will is work as a direct connection between the iPad hdmi output and convert the digital signal to VGA analog out that will work on a projector?
I'm looking for a way to convert a iPad 2 digital hdmi out with the apple cable directly to a projector with VGA input without the apple TV.

Best AnswerYes but wouldn't it be easier to just get the iPad vga adapter instead of having to go through hdmi to get to VGA

AnswerYes, it does output to 1080p@60Hz, Therefore, f you are using the latest Apple TV that supports this resolution, please make sure that your display or projector also supports that.

Does this AppleTV and HDMI-VGA cable set-up require an existing Wi-Fi network to connect the iOS device and the AppleTV. Or does it work without one?

AnswerRachel, it would need to still have an existing Wi-Fi network, just as it does when you are using your iOS device with the Apple TV normally. The Kanex ATV Pro is a useful adapter that simply converts the signal from HDMI to your VGA input (and sound via "headphone" connection).

The iPhone does not have an HDMI output, of course, so the Pro HDMI to VGA Adapter will not connect directly to it. However, you can use the "AirPlay" feature on the iPhone to connect to the AppleTV that has this adapter connected to it. Make sure that the version of the iPhone that you have supports AirPlay and mirroring
You can connect the iPhone 4 to a VGA display with the Apple 30 pin to VGA Adapter and a VGA cable. However, there are many limitations as to what you can view since most Apps do not have video output.- Answered by Jose D from Katy
