This charger does not fit into a USB port. It fits into the cigarette lighter of your car and has two USB ports to charge up to two IPads simultaneously (and of course a combination of IPhone/IPhone or IPod/IPad etc..)

This charger works for any iOS device. Since it has the USB port, all you have to do is connect your iPad/iPhone/iPod with your 30 pin connector cord or new lightning cord, because both these cords have the USB end which goes in to the charger.

Yes, this charger is compatible with the new iPad mini as long as you have the new Lightning to USB cable. Plug in the USB end to the car charger and the Lightning end to the iPad mini and enjoy 2.1 precious Amps of charge in the convenience of your car.

This product is designed to fit into the power port, or cigarette lighter port of the car, and give you two USB inputs to charge 2 devices. It does not convert your current USB port into 2 ports.

This is for the cigarette lighter socket in automobiles. Its compatibility might depend on the airline you fly, but in my experience most airplane-seat power sockets take a special adaptor that's different from this one.
