What is the range of GPS tracking. My dogs like to run (sometimes 1 mile away) and want to make sure the GPS will track them at long distances.

Best AnswerTagg uses GPS to locate your pet - and it communicates that location via a cellular connection to your mobile device or computer. Tagg operates on the Verizon network, so as long as your pet is in Verizon coverage you should get the location.

How long does the battery last between charges?

AnswerSince the Tagg tracker battery can last up to 30 days, depending on use, it usually needs to be charged only about once or twice a month. You will receive a text or email when the battery power runs low, and also when it’s fully charged and ready to go back on your pet.
Your battery life will vary depending on several factors, and there are things you can do to help get the best possible battery life.
The first and most important thing to do for best battery life is to make sure your docking station is set up properly. Additional factors are the size and construction of your property and home, and how much time your pet is not near the docking station. When your pet is away from the docking station, your usage of the tracking features obviously consumes power. Finally, if you have good cellular coverage at and around your home, this can have an effect not only on battery life but also on the product performance.
Depending on the factors above, actual battery life can vary greatly. If your pet is almost always at home and nearby the docking station, you can get up to 30 days. If your pet is away from the docking station almost all the time, maybe because you are on vacation and the docking station is at home, you may only get a few days’ battery life. Most of the time you will probably experience something in the middle.- Answered by Dudley F from San Diego

Any GPS tracking for dogs under 8 lbs?
- Asked by Ellen T from Rosemead

AnswerTagg -- The Pet Tracker was designed for pets that are 10 pounds and larger. I have seen testimonials of owners of smaller dogs and cats that have tried Tagg. Some feel it is fine, some think it is too large. It comes down to personal preference and the animal's build. Due to the current state of the art of electronics, physics of antennas for wireless communication and desirable battery life - it is not very likely that there will be a significantly smaller or lighter pet focused GPS system than Tagg for some time.

AnswerThe Tagg tracker is water resistant, so your pet can wear the Tagg tracker all the time, even while swimming or bathing. The tracker is water-resistant, but should not be submerged for extended periods of time.
As for accuracy, the Tagg tracker includes advanced GPS location technology and is designed so that you get high accuracy, in the broadest range of conditions, with fast response. The GPS system is a set of satellites (24 minimum) operated by the U.S. Government that transmit radio signals with position information. Devices like the Tagg tracker can listen to the signals, and use the position references to calculate their own position on the earth.
As a starting point to understand GPS accuracy, the official U.S. Government GPS web site ( www.gps.gov ) states that the GPS satellite signals will provide accuracy capability of 7.8 meters (25 feet) with 95% confidence. The location technology inside the Tagg tracker is advanced, so you can expect it to provide the best accuracy available using the GPS satellites; sometimes it can even be better than the U.S. Government guideline.
The accuracy of an individual GPS location depends on a number of factors, so the degree of accuracy can vary over a wide range. To help you visualize this, the Tagg map displays GPS locations from the tracker as a circle, rather than just a dot. The size of the circle indicates the accuracy based on the 95% confidence level, and it will change whenever you get a new GPS location. When you see the circle, it means that you can be 95% confident that the tracker is inside that circle.- Answered by Dudley F from San Diego
