Dose anyone use Aperture with the Wacom intuous? If so, is it easy to learn and is it a worthwhile investment for Aperture?

AnswerI cannot recommend this tablet for Aperture. Latency is a problem for Aperture running on my 2.8 GHz iMac.
However, if you use Photoshop or Painter or any of the myriad ways in which to bring a tablet into your workflow, then yes! I wholeheartedly recommend any Wacom tablet.
The moment you take up the pen and begin working, you will increase your productivity by 2048 percent!
Every tool in your computer arsenal will benefit from the tablet workflow, but nowhere is this more evident that working with paint brushes. Oooooh it's sooooo sweeeeeeeet.- Answered by Michael V from Yuba City

AnswerThere are not graphics on the tablet itself. You will have to look at your monitor.

can a wacom intuos5 touch pen tablet use the battery power of an Apple Mac Pro made in 2008, and can it be used outside without a power outlet

AnswerIf I understand your question correctly:
-Out of the box, the tablet's power is supplied though a USB cable which also provides the data connection to your computer.
-If you purchase the optional Bluetooth kit, the tablet will connect over bluetooth and run off a battery. So yes, you could use it outside (provided you had a laptop). But you will have to recharge it eventually with a USB cable.- Answered by Gabe T from Winnipeg

Is it possible to try this product first to see if it will work for what I need?
I have an iMac with the Mountain Lion system. I am looking for a program to convert photographs to pen and ink type drawings. Will this product work for that and how artistic to I have to be. I can't draw stick figures.

AnswerThink of a tablet as a mouse on steroids. Software works with tablets like this one, but the tablet itself will not do anything that your hand doesn't tell it to do.
If you want software to convert photos to what look like pen/ink drawings, I'm going to guess you need Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. If you don't plan on doing any drawing or tracing yourself, you probably don't need a tablet at all.- Answered by Erik R from Portland

Does anyone know whether the latency is different, i.e. there's less latency than experienced with the Bamboo tablet from Wacom?
Hiccups anyone? I tried to use a Bamboo tablet I received as a gift with my MBP (OSX 10.7.4/ Pshp & Illus 5.1) and was frustrated by skips and lag between touching the tablet with the pen and the stroke beginning on the screen. Wondering if the Intuos 5 is smooth. Thanks -

AnswerAs far as I know there should be no problems what so ever. I have both the original bamboo and a Intuos4 and there have been no problems. Could run down to maybe theres something wrong with the stylus/tablet or driver issue. The Intuos is a professional grade tablet so there should be no problems. COuld always contact customer support if you do run into any trouble.
