The G-RAID is hardware RAID 0, and appears to the system as a single 4GB drive. You'll need two separate drives if you want to do RAID 1.

Does this RAID system have 2 - 2TB drives in it or does it have 2 - 4TB drives / What is the real storage capability?
It is my understanding that RAIDs stripe data. 4 - TB drives still only have 4TB of storage not 16TB.

AnswerYou can shrink, expand, and create new partitions with the disk utility. Make a partition for Macs and another for Windows. But don't partition if you are using this as a time-machine drive, get two drives instead.

can use this on my Macbook pro?
if you can, what do i need to do it?

AnswerYes, you can select between the firewire and usb ports as needed. Firewire will be faster so you would want to prefer that connection. The cables come with it, so all you need to do is connect up the power supply to the external drive, then connect either the firewire or USB cable to your MBP

Can it be used as network attached storage drive to hold lossless music files
I need to find a NAS which can be read by the Sonos multiroom audio system

AnswerThis device does not contain an ethernet port (ie no direct means of connecting to the network). You can connect it to either a Mac or to a Time Capsule (or other device that provides for additional external hard drive connection(s)), and then share it that way.

AnswerThe drive is very quiet (or least mine is). I do hear the occasional click as the drive spins up to speed. The drive is very fast and works very well with Logic Studio and Final Cut.

Can this be connected to my MACbook via a wireless router?
I would rather not have this connected directly to my MacBook. I have a wireless router by lynksys. I am looking to use this to house my many music, photos and videos and have my MacBook look their for those files rather then the local drive. Can this be done and how do you suggest I connect it?
