This product plays with an iPod nano, but does not track sleep using an iPod nano. An iOS device is required to track sleep.

Yes, you can. Either of the iPhone 5 lightning adapters works, although I find the one that has the short cable is compatible with a wider range of iPhone 5 cases.

According to the in app FAQ "The sensor will detect only one person within range and remain ‘locked’ onto the nearest person.Renew is designed to work for one user only. It is not recommended to have two Renew’s working in the same bedroom as they may interfere with each other."

Can i still use my white noise app with this without it lowering the volume as i sleep? i CANNOT sleep without it.
i use a specific white noise app on my phone to sleep. i need it loud to drown out the noise in my neighborhood (i live very close to a hospital, and i live on a busy street).

I just tested it to answer your question. I started White Noise and then plugged the iPhone into the Renew SleepClock. Immediately the sound started coming out of the speakers - sounded great too. Unfortunately as soon as I switched over to the SleepClock app - which you must use to start the monitoring - the white noise stopped. So the app grabs the audio away from white noise. So sorry you can't use both at the same time - unless you have two iOS devices such as a phone and an iPad.

will it play music from your ipod during the day without fading the volume? is the speaker quality good enough/loud enough to act as 2nd sound system?
looking for reasonable speakers to play music during the day when in my bedroom. wondering if this will let you play music, or if it continually fades the music even when you're not sleeping? and if the speaker quality and sound level will be good enough to be used during the day to listen to music from the ipod when in the room.

It will be play music from your iPod during the day without fading the volume. The volume fade happens only when you are attempting to sleep.

It can be as far as 1.5 meters. The easiest way to position it is to aim it at the center of your bed. Sleep in any position you normally sleep in, and it will sense your sleep patterns.
