Does it scan wirelessly to the Mac? (into a network folder for example?)

Best AnswerI will answer my own question too - it did work for me quite well one a MacBook Pro and a MacPro both running 10.7.3. However, the HP Printer Software Update, version 2.8 (which appears to contain v 4.1.0 from HP) broke it. I downloaded the previous version, installed it and it worked again.

The official HP site indicates that the machine supports "automatic two-sided printing, scanning and copying". I haven't personally tried it.

AnswerToni, the instructions are in the Apple's Support section. Unfortunately I cannot attach a link, so please go to the Apple site, click on Support in the toolbar, select the iPad then select from the left list "Features". In the right list there should be some articles, one of them being called "AirPrint 101". That should give you all the details (including the compatible printers).

Best AnswerHP 8600 supports HP eprint, but NOT Apple Airprint as of Feb. 19, 2012. I bought one and returned. Apple says 8600A supports Airprint.

Does this printer have wireless fax or eFax capability? It says just Fax on the box but I need eFax. Thanks. Tracy
This is the Hp office jet pro 8600 PLUS all in one I'm looking at. It says Fax but doesn't mention eFax. I need a fast all in one, AirPrint, EPrint and EFax. This one seems to have what I need but it just says FAX, not eFax. I hope it will do eFax. Does anyone know? Thanks.

I can successfully print from both an iPad 2 and an iPad 1 wirelessly to this printer both with iOS 5 and iOS 5.1 (without any special software). This is on a Time Capsule created wireless network. (As of March 14, 2012)

envelopes and network printing
How well does the 8600 all in one handle envelopes and other sized paper like labels etc. Our current hp printer is no longer handling envelopes properly.
