- Asked about: Bowers & Wilkins A7 AirPlay Wireles…
Best AnswerI've had both and enjoyed the Zeppelin, but replaced it with the A7. I wish I had taken the time to listen to them side by side, but I difference was still clear when I received the A7. I don't have the vocabulary of the audiophiles, so I'll do the best I can. There's absolutely no distortion with the A7 even at full volume whereas the Zeppelin distorted ever so slightly. I was also able to enjoy a more spacious sound from the A7 and more pronounced bass. I'd guess it's due to the new design. As I'm writing this review, I listening to a Tracy Chappman track and she sounds lie she's sitting in the room with me. Everything is so unbelievably clear. I warned you my vocab was less than par...Anyways, I hope this helps:)

how to connect Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin Air speakers to Mac Book Air computer when computer has no ethernet port?

Best AnswerZeppelin Air has it's own temporary wireless network which you can access from your browser . Details are in Bowers & Wilkins online manual. This will enable you to set up Airplay without using an ethernet cable .
p.s. Zeppelin Air will only join a network with an alphanumeric password . If you have any symbols in your home network password you'll need to remove them or set up a guest account without any . Hopefully this will be sorted with a firmware update .- Answered by Ian T

how do i change bass/treble settings on the zeppelin wireless?

Best AnswerUnfortunately, you need to physically dock an iOS device, on the Zeppelin Air, and go to "Settings" and then "Speakers" and finally "Tone Control". You can change it from "Bass -3" to "Bass +1".
On the online manual, it does recommend to change your EQ to "off" or "flat" due to the amazing built-in DAC on the Zeppelin Air.- Answered by David N from San Diego

AnswerIt has the 30pin connector not a lighting connector so you would not be able to dock the iPad mini, but setting up the speaker for airplay is very easy and as long as your ipad mini is connected to wifi it is easy to play to the speaker from the ipad mini

AnswerUnfortunately, it will not function as a speakerphone. If you have an iPhone docked you will hear: keyboard clicks, alarms, phone ringer and other alerts, etc...

Best Answer
Mostly, Yes. The most obvious issue I've had is that it beeps often ie. the same noise you get when you first put it onto the Zeppelin.
The other issue I've noticed since updating either the firmware or iTunes (I'm not sure which) is that the Zeppelin no longer appears in the iTunes multiple speaker window. I can still send music to the Zeppelin but not at the same time as to other speakers or my computer. This is a real retrograde step!- Answered by Edward H from Brisbane

AnswerThere are no audio outputs on the Zeppelin Air, so no, your audio source would have to output to multiple speakers. However, I would argue that you do not need any external speakers to enhance the sound of the Zeppelin Air, mine sounds awesome as it is; if anything it's too bass heavy as it is :).

The Zeppelin Air comes with an 802.11 (g) card. Does anyone know the effect of this on an 802.11 (n) wireless network? Perhaps, only when in use?

AnswerIt depends on the router. Apparently, the Airport Extreme can handle mixed g/n connections without letting the g drag the whole thing down. But the Airport Express is not as sophisticated. You'd have to find out from other manufacturers how their routers fair.

Is Zeppelin Air compatible with Apple TV via toslink?

Best AnswerYes. From user manual:
Auxiliary Input
If you wish to listen to an external analogue or
digital audio source, connect it to the Zeppelin Air
AUX input socket using either an analogue cable
terminated with a mini-jack plug or a digital cable
terminated with a mini-TosLink optical plug. Zeppelin
Air will automatically identify the type of cable used
and configure the AUX input socket appropriately.- Answered by Sergio A from Dos Hermanas

2. How do you connect to a wifi network so that you can use air play?
Im worried that the strange way you have to connect to my school network will mean i won't be able to connect the speakers to the wifi.. You have to go through steps such as entering passwords and usernames...

AnswerYou connect to a WiFi network via an app that you can download to an iPhone/iPad/iPod (touch) or to a Mac computer. This enables you to configure your Zeppelin Air for the specific WiFi network that you are using. I have an encrypted and hidden WiFi network that requires a password at home and found the process rather easy. The entire process took about 10 minutes, start to finish. The app is intuitive, includes demonstrations in case you feel out of your league, and provides easy feedback to the user.
Since I installed the app and configured for my WiFi I have had no problems. I run my Zeppelin primarily from my phone and also make use of the AUX input so that I have stereo from my TV. Now when I watch a movie from my iPhone/iPad/Mac it plays on the TV via the AppleTV and the sound runs through the Zeppelin!!- Answered by Harris B from Sharjah

Best AnswerNaturally, the dock wont, nor will AirPlay, however where is a 3.5mm stereo input on the back on the Zeppelin Air, so a 3.5mm male to male audio cable will get you up and running to experience the Zeppelin.
