Does wireless streaming work with the MacBook Air?
The description suggests yes, but the compatibility matrix displays only iPads, iPhones, iPod.

AnswerYes, as long as you have a compatible wireless network to connect to, you can stream to Zep Air from iTunes on your MacBook, PC, notebook etc. You will need to make sure your iTunes software is up to date.

Can you plug P5s into the Zepp Air, while plugged into a Mac? I'd like use the Zepp's DAC to bypass the DAC on my Mac. I believe the MM-1s have this.
- Asked by David N from San Diego

AnswerAfter further testing, I concluded that the feature I am looking for is only available on the MM-1s. For example: the MM-1s plugged via USB to a Mac; the P5s plugged into the headphone jack on the MM-1s, to utilize the built-in DAC for crystal clear sounds.

Answer
there is'nt an actual adaptor for the zeppelin. but I also have an original one and by using an apple airport express, available on this site and an optical lead as both the express and the mk1 zeppelin have combined optical and digital jacks I have streamed music via remote app for itouch and now airplay directly from the itouch to the zeppelin for a couple of years now using the zepps onboard DAC
despite the reported improvements in the sound quality with mk11 over mk1 zep as i already had the airport express i couldn't see the big deal with the integrated Airplay- Answered by Pat F from Trim

It is different to the current one. It uses a new DAC that improves distortion and it now goes louder still than the old. It's also got new drive units to improve the sound even better. It takes a lot of technology and parts from the MM-1's which sound incredible so it should be a good improvement on the current speakers.
As for the difference in AirPlay and iPod/iPhone direct, only time will tell. Everyone in our office bought an original Zeppelin but we all had very different experiences with interference noise from the iPhones on the units. My gut feeling is that I'd rather do AirPlay if my Wi-Fi is good enough but my current experience of AirPlay from iPhone to Apple TV is not good with constant dropouts and in some cases a total stop. Hopefully, iOS 4.3 final build will solve these issues.
I think I would wait for reviews and user experiences before jumping in. It's on my shopping list but I'll be waiting a month or 2 for the dust to settle before parting with that kind of money.- Answered by Jeff N

i am comparing between this one and bose sounddock 10, which one has higher sound and which one has higher quality and detailed sound?
- Asked by Ali E from Cairo
- May 5, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerBoth have very good overall sound quality for an all-in-one iPod speaker system. The Bose produces a louder sound with "boomy" base. B&W does get impressively loud, but provides a more refined sound, with great detail, warm mids, and a natural "punchy" base. Neither have great stereo separation, and in the end each serve 2 different purposes. Bose is good if you want backyard party and grill type performance, B&W is more for audio enthusiasts wanting quick, quality music over a dinner party with some wine. This is also clear by the body design; where Bose is industrial - toss in the back seat of a car - B&W is more eloquent, sculpted and less mobile.

buy it in US and use in in Australia
As Australia uses different voltage from US, can I simply buy one Zeppelin Air and bring back to Down Under?
And, would it be problematic regarding wireless setup? Again, because we Australian have different systems.- Asked by Tiffany C from Taipei County

AnswerTC, we don't have different wireless systems. And yes it runs on 110 to 240 V AC so all you need is a plug adaptor.

Best AnswerIt should be possible, it depends on the audio output on your TV... But I doubt you'll be able to connect it wirelessly, the simpliest way will be to use a usual jack cable...

Answer
The Zeppelin Air features an AUX port, which allows you to feed audio from any device with a headphone jack. There is no way to stream the audio from the TV or Blu Ray player, the wireless works with airplay (iOS, AppleTV, and iTunes only so far). Having said that, the AUX port works very well. I use the device with a samsung LED and Blu Ray set up. The sound is far superior to the TV's built in speakers, but it doesn't have great seperation.

I use my iPhone 4 all the time, and have had no problems. When I get a call, the music stops, and I just take the phone off the cradle arm and answer the call. BEWARE: the Zep. Air HATES bumper covers on phones, it won't connect properly if you have a cover on your iPhone, and won't work. Take your bumper cover off before placing your phone on the arm, and it will work just fine. And no need to use "airport" mode on your phone, just leave phone on like you always do.

Answer
Zep Air has one centrally mounted woofer measuring 125mm or 5.0 inches, driven by a 50 watt amplifier. It has twin ports to increase bass output, which use B&W's Flowport design for improved bass definition

Can I use this product in the Japan?
Bying in US then bring back to Japan. Can I use it in the Japan?
- Asked by Masahiro S from Gold River
- Dec 2, 2011
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerAlthough, my answer is quite late, perhaps it will help someone else buying products in the US for use in Japan.
The voltage in Japan is 100V. The voltage in the US is 120V. Both countries have ungrounded (2-prong) plugs that fit interchangeably. Personally, I find the difference in voltage negligible. I think only really sensitive equipment will have problems with the voltage difference. I lived in Japan for a year and a half, and used a US bought, non-Apple laptop and external hard drive JUST FINE without plug adaptors or voltage converters.- Answered by Maria V V from Cypress

AnswerIt will link up with the IPad, but it does not link up through bluetooth like the Jawbone. It links up through your wireless router system using Airplay.

AnswerNo. The Zeppelin Air is an endpoint for audio streaming. It can act like an Airport Express when the Airport Express is set to be an audio endpoint.
