They are very close but I feel the A7 is better. I own both and the A7 seems to have that little extra in both the bottom and top end.. I also have the A5 and frankly, the average listener (my wife's opinion) will not notice much difference between all of them. They are all great products.

Answer
It has the 30pin connector not a lighting connector so you would not be able to dock the iPad mini, but setting up the speaker for airplay is very easy and as long as your ipad mini is connected to wifi it is easy to play to the speaker from the ipad mini

Mostly, Yes. The most obvious issue I've had is that it beeps often ie. the same noise you get when you first put it onto the Zeppelin.
The other issue I've noticed since updating either the firmware or iTunes (I'm not sure which) is that the Zeppelin no longer appears in the iTunes multiple speaker window. I can still send music to the Zeppelin but not at the same time as to other speakers or my computer. This is a real retrograde step!- Answered by Edward H from Brisbane

Answer
There are no audio outputs on the Zeppelin Air, so no, your audio source would have to output to multiple speakers. However, I would argue that you do not need any external speakers to enhance the sound of the Zeppelin Air, mine sounds awesome as it is; if anything it's too bass heavy as it is :).

how to connect Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin Air speakers to Mac Book Air computer when computer has no ethernet port?

Best Answer
Zeppelin Air has it's own temporary wireless network which you can access from your browser . Details are in Bowers & Wilkins online manual. This will enable you to set up Airplay without using an ethernet cable .
p.s. Zeppelin Air will only join a network with an alphanumeric password . If you have any symbols in your home network password you'll need to remove them or set up a guest account without any . Hopefully this will be sorted with a firmware update .- Answered by Ian T

2. How do you connect to a wifi network so that you can use air play?
Im worried that the strange way you have to connect to my school network will mean i won't be able to connect the speakers to the wifi.. You have to go through steps such as entering passwords and usernames...

Answer
You connect to a WiFi network via an app that you can download to an iPhone/iPad/iPod (touch) or to a Mac computer. This enables you to configure your Zeppelin Air for the specific WiFi network that you are using. I have an encrypted and hidden WiFi network that requires a password at home and found the process rather easy. The entire process took about 10 minutes, start to finish. The app is intuitive, includes demonstrations in case you feel out of your league, and provides easy feedback to the user.
Since I installed the app and configured for my WiFi I have had no problems. I run my Zeppelin primarily from my phone and also make use of the AUX input so that I have stereo from my TV. Now when I watch a movie from my iPhone/iPad/Mac it plays on the TV via the AppleTV and the sound runs through the Zeppelin!!- Answered by Harris B from Sharjah

Naturally, the dock wont, nor will AirPlay, however where is a 3.5mm stereo input on the back on the Zeppelin Air, so a 3.5mm male to male audio cable will get you up and running to experience the Zeppelin.

This device is a far better purchase overall. THe Beats audio speaker is ever more overprice (relatively) and looks awful, while sound quality is also sub-par for a $600 speaker.
