Is the Nvidia 4000 a better card than the NVIDIA FX4800 card even though it is less expensive? If so, in what ways would one be better than the other?

In terms of power usage, is it safe to have two Quadro 4000 cards in the x16 slots and one Geforce 120 in an x4 slot?
I want to reserve the Quadro 4000 cards exclusively for CUDA, and use the Geforce 120 for display. There is sufficient space and power connectors, I am just unsure if it would be drawing too much power.

I purchase two of these cards for my 12 core mac pro, what's the best setup? First card as GPGPU, and second card to connect 2 monitors?
I'm wondering what's the best set up to fully take advantage of these cards' power.
I have 2 monitors, a 30 and a 27 inch, work with 3D/2D and high end editing and FX applications. If purchase two of these cards for my 12 core mac pro, what's the best setup? First card as GPGPU, and second card to connect 2 monitors?
OR
One monitor on each card?
Thanks,- Asked by Carlos F from Los Angeles

Answer
If it were me, I'd put one monitor on each card. My CUDA-enabled applications should be able to tap into the cores on both cards, and one card per monitor distributes display resources/frame buffer memory evenly.
Hopefully the cards will start shipping soon, and you'll be able to test out each setup with the specific apps you're using.- Answered by Trilo B from San Francisco
