Can I connect my HARMAN KARDON SOUNDSTICKS III, to the Apple TV?
And if so, what cables do I need?
I ask the question because I want to connect my Apple TV to my beamer. In that case, my sound system should preferably be connected to my sound-system directly.- Asked by Aart V

my macbook pro has a built-in subwoofer, so there's no need for an external one, right?

Best AnswerThere is no sub-woofer that can compare to these fabulous 'speakers. Separate Bass volume control allows various combinations of flat playing or equalizer. Works with Airport ot Apple TV brilliantly.

Where do you put the subwoofer? Behind your iMac?
Was just wondering cause the picture you show and other websites show with the computers and the speakers doesn't show the subwoofer so I was wondering where I should put it if I get one.

AnswerI have a corner desk and place the speaker on the floor. The subwoofer is not directional so it can be anywhere. Unless you have a lot of room behind your monitor, I would say ten inches, it won't fit on your desk. Its not gigantic but it is large.

Answer
It really depends these will work with any thing that has a 3.5 millimetre headphone port..... but if not you might have to find a converter or something similar to do the job. But short answer yes it will work with most desktops

I currently own an ihome Ih52 system, could I hook up the harman's with the ihome? If so, how?
Only reason why I would wanna do this is so that I can still have a dock to charge my iPod, and an alarm clock (Which the Ih52 has)

Comparison between Sounsticks III and it's predecessor.
I'd like to know what are the differences between Soundsticks 3 and Soundsticks 2.
My Soundsticks 2 in their 2nd year of use, stared falling apart. The satellite speakers would split open along the seams. The guys that chose the glue that holds it together did not factor in, the humidity levels in asia.
Thus far, all I noticed were
1. different coloured bases for the satellite speakers.
2. White LED light on the SoundSticks 3 as opposed to the blue LED found on the predecessor.
3. Different wires(though this may merely be a cosmetic change)
Are there any real improvements in terms of sound reproduction quality- Asked by Gt O from Georgetown

AnswerThe original was a USB based system not a mini-hifi plug. Original was blue to kinda-sorta match some of the original blue colored plastic monitors. The original SoundSticks were designed by Apple with HK and were only sold through Apple for a while. Since Lion, the USB's stopped working and were made obsolete. They will work with Windoze with the appropriate driver. The sound is actually better to my ears. I used the Original until about a year ago when I finally switched to Snow Leopard on my Mini. Since the input signal uses a normal 3.5mm stereo plug the SoundSticks can be used with ANY device that has a mini output including your iPod and iPad.

Best Answertake a look on the bottom of one of the satellite speakers. you'll see 2 silver buttons. they are touch sensitive, so just tap them gently to turn the volume up and down.
