is the Canon VIXIA HF R100 HD Flash Memory Camcorder good for mac? is it easy to upload and edit video on mac? does mac read it right away?

Best AnswerBe aware this camera is only campadable with new iMacs. If your running anything older then iMovie 11 it will not read the SD cards or camera.

ARE THE CANON and sony CAMCORDERS COMPATABLE WITH IMAC 10.6.5 THAT WHEN I CONNECT THE CAMCORDER WITH THE MAC I CAN COPY THE FILES
my desire is to copy video from the camera to my mac, and then burn the files onto a disc. i want to be able to plug the video camera in and have the program run without additional effort on my part. my jvc won't work and i bought an panasonic that won't work

yes, there is a usb ready to use with it, it does not come with a memory card though, you need on of those. it use SD cards though, so you can put the card in your computer if you have a slot in it.

AnswerNO-!! You need the latest version of iMovie to use this camcorder. Any thing later then iMovie 11 will not read the camera or SD card. Im running iMovie 6 & had to end up returning my camera.
