- Asked about: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
Answer
You have the 27" iMac with Model ID: imac10.1 . It came with at least 4 GB of memory.
It had Snow Leopard pre-installed (Snow Leopard is OS 10.6)
If Snow Leopard has been updated to OS 10.6.8 (or you upgraded to Lion (OS 10.7) in meantime) you can download and install Mountain Lion (OS 10.8). (Note: "Lion" is now a legacy product at Apple.)- Answered by Ewald W from Vancouve

Answer
Your 2010 MacBook Pro is on the list of supported models for Mountain Lion 10.8. Use Software Update to ensure you have the last release of Snow Leopard, 10.6.8, then open the Mac App Store to purchase Mountain Lion 10.8.

what is the word processor for iMac?

Best Answer
There are two main options available, one from Microsoft and one from Apple. The one from Microsoft is the same program, Word, you would have used on PCs. Apple also has a suite of programs which includes a word processor called Pages. If you go for the Microsoft word processor, make sure it is the version that is compatible with Macs.

I live in a household with two MacBook Pro laptops using one wireless network. I understand that if I purchase a family license, I would be able to upgrade the software on both computers with the purchase of only one CD. Is that correct?

Does the Mac mini have a built-in airport extreme?
- Asked by Nicholas S from Humble
- Sep 12, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
No. It does have a built-in Airport wi-fi capability, as do all the new Macs, so if you have set up an Airport Extreme working with your ISP (or have any other wireless network), the Mac mini will be able to use your wi-fi network wirelessly or wired, for that matter. But the Mac Mini is only a computer, not a router such as the Airport Extreme.

does the iMac come with install dvd?
- Asked by Chen X from New York
- Apr 6, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
Current Apple systems that come with Mac OS X 10.7 (Mid 2011 systems forward) do not ship with install dvds because they come with Lion Recovery. Lion Recovery is a partition on your primary HDD that allows you to do everything install dvds do. You can also download the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant from the support section and create an external Lion Recovery.
