Microsoft Office for Ipad Mini?
I want to get an Ipad Mini, just basically to use as I use my laptop but more portable. The thing I use the most on my laptop is Microsoft Office. I realise that is Windows Operating System software, so would I be able to use it on the Ipad Mini?

Can Same charger be used for iPad and iPod and iPhone

Best AnswerNo.
The iPad (third and fourth gen) uses a 12 watt charger. The 12 watt charger will charge all iOS devices (All iPads, all iPods, all iPhones - just plug in the right cable - 30 pin or Lightning).
The iPad and iPad 2 use a 10 watt charger. This will charge iPad, iPad 2 and all iPhones and iPods with the right cable attached (30 pin or lightning). It will not effectively charge a New iPad (third and fourth gen).
The iPhone and iPods use a 5 watt charger. This will charge all iPhones and iPods with the right cable attached (30 pin or lightning). It will not effectively charge any iPad.
Basically, one can charge any device with the 12 watt charger as it is powerful enough to charge the most demanding and least demanding iOS devices.
One can purchase a 12 watt or 5 watt adaptor at the Apple Store or Apple Store OnLine. Don't worry, all the new adaptors look different from each other so you won't grab the wrong one on your way out the door for vacation!
The lower wattage adaptors are best suited for the devices with which they came.
Rule of Thumb: A lower wattage adaptor will NOT charge a device that demands a higher wattage adaptor but it is perfectly safe to plug in a higher wattage adaptor into your devices that use lower wattage units.
Please note that the iPod shuffle uses a special mini jack/USB cable - not a 30 pin or Lightning.- Answered by Sassy S from Kansas City

can i use my iphone charger to charge my ipad?
- Asked by John R from Valencia

Best AnswerThe iPhone charger will charge an iPad but at about half the rate of the charger that is supplied with the iPad. Lithium ion battery charging is managed inside of the device (i.e.iPad or iPhone) based on the state of charge and the voltage profile during charge.
Think of the following analogy ...
If you are filling identical buckets with two different hoses, one hose with twice the rate of flow as the of the other hose. The bucket being filled by the hose with the higher flow rate would fill twice as fast as the one being filled with the hose with the lesser flow rate. Both hoses have automatic shut off mechanisms that keep the buckets from overflowing.
The same basic analogy holds true with the two different chargers. The battery management circuitry inside of your iPhone or iPad are the automatic shutoff to keep the battery from being damaged by overcharging. Since the iPhone charger has about half the maximum charge current capability as that of the iPad charger, it will take about twice the time to charge an iPad.- Answered by Paul D from Noblesville

Could an ipad take the place or a regular computer for everyday use?
- Asked by Matt J from Canton
- Jun 6, 2013
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerYes it could. If you get the iPad with retina display with 32 or 64 gb, you can fit many documents and essays (if you're a college/high school student) with numbers or pages, and presentations with keynote. If touch keyboards aren't your thing, you could always buy the Logitech magnetic keyboard for less than $100. If you want a MacBook Pro feel for a cheaper price, get the black. If you want the look of a MacBooks air, get the white. If you want the most portable option, get the iPad mini, it has a keyboard accessory too. Hope this helps :)

AnswerThere is a Kindle app, but with better experience, there's a free iBooks app, personally much better than Kindle. If she's thinking of getting an iPad, I strongly suggest it. My sister had her iPad 2 for 2 years and mine (iPad 3) is having its first anniversary on June 3rd, and still works like a charm and has a very smooth experience and AMAZING apps, better than on Android tablets. Worth it!

Best AnswerNatively, there is no support for Microsoft Office documents on an iDevice (I don't think there has been on any smart phone or mobile computing platform other than perhaps microsoft's own, mostly failed historically, offerings). Of course, natively there is no support for iWorks or iLife files either so it's not just Microsoft.
That said, there are software applications produced to bridge this gap.
The longest standing and probably most well known Office Access Application has been Documents to Go by DataViz, who've produced Office compatibility software since the time of the Palm Pilot for pretty much every mobile computing platform you can think of. The software is $10 on the app store and it works on iPhone and iPad. There is a premium version with more features for slightly more.
If you don't HAVE to work in Office but just need an office suite the iWorks suite of tools (Apple produced) does a good job also, each of them are available on your iDevices also.
This said, in my humble opinion, an iPad is NOT a replacement for a laptop. If the vast majority of what you want to do is "intel" based (you are using outlook for e-mail, word/excel exclusively for your work, or other windows only applications) you are probably better off NOT trying to retrofit what you're doing and try to find some way to have the iPad work for you.
Do some research on google for the applications you use and what is available through the app store.
Keep in mind though that for the amount of money you're going to spend on an iPad, Bluetooth Keyboard, and Case to carry them, you can also buy a very nice workable laptop that will do everything you want it to do how you want it to do it. It may not be as portable, but it will likely be more functional.
IMO: iPads are accessories in ADDITION to Laptops, not in replacement of them, unless all of your work is primarily done on apps you can download to your iDevice.- Answered by Douglas W from O Fallon

Best AnswerYes, you can have several if you wish;
Either you may sync your email accounts via iTunes or
Manually enter the credentials into your iPad itself. The iPad has a set up wizard for this.
Open 'Settings' and scroll down to 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' and select.
Click on 'Add Account' and you will be presented with several popular options such as, iCloud, MS Exchange, Google Mail, Yahoo, MS Hotmail, MobileME and Other.
