Lost 2500 pictures when I installed Snow Leopard on my MacBook Pro, can they be recovered?

Every other programs were succesfull, only iPhoto failed. Lost iPhoto Library

How far back can deleted or (trashed) data mostly pictures be tracked? Are we talking months years what?

I deleted the only pictures of a newly deceased relative nearly two years ago, can Date Rescue recover files deleted from the trash bin in previous years? Or only recent losses of data, and does it recover data deleted prior to OS Lion dating back to Snow Leopard.

Recover Iphoto albums that have been lost. is this program capable of recovering photos that have already been deleted from the trash bin ?
