Does this work with a 1st Generation ITouch?

I'd like to use this cable to play my 1st Generation ITouch through the speakers in my Rover Sport. I used a different brand of cable for my daughter's IPOD and it worked for hers but not my ITouch. Will this brand work?

I take it that this cable is a standard audio cable. My car has a audio jack and I wanted to connect my iPad to my car's stereo. Will this cable work with my iPad?
