I'm thinking of getting a shuffle exclusively for use in the car. But now that the shuffle's controls are on the earphones, how do I control it if I use the cable instead?

Does this work with a 1st Generation ITouch?
I'd like to use this cable to play my 1st Generation ITouch through the speakers in my Rover Sport. I used a different brand of cable for my daughter's IPOD and it worked for hers but not my ITouch. Will this brand work?

Will my iPod playlists show up in my car with this cable?
I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue, and it has a button that says iPod playlist, and an AUX cable spot, but my other cord doesn't transfer that information, because it doesn't show up on the screen.
