A similar cable I use to play my ipod classic through the aux jack in my 2008 Honda CRV does not work with my iphone 3GS. Why not, and will this one?

Will my iPod playlists show up in my car with this cable?

I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue, and it has a button that says iPod playlist, and an AUX cable spot, but my other cord doesn't transfer that information, because it doesn't show up on the screen.

Is the Monster iCable 800 compatible with all ipod versions?

I have a classic ipod SN: 2Z7132YKV9M and was told that the Monster iCable 800 was not compatible with all ipods. Please advise. Thanks! Ed :O)
