What do I need to transfer pictures and albums FROM my MacBook TO my iPad?

All instructions deal with sending photos from the iPad to the computer, or from a camera to the iPad. But I need to take an album of edited photos from my MacBook where I use Aperture 3 to my new iPad for marketing purposes, and cannot find any information on how this is done.

Once I get the pictures from my camera sd card to my iPad mini can I then edit them with photo editing apps then back to my sd card?
