Will it transfer images from Micro-SD using SD Adapter?

I have a ScanDisk 64 GB Micro-SD and SD Adapter. Will the Lightning to SD Card Cameera Reader properly read and transfer video and JPEG images from this card?

Will a 16GB SD card download before the battery on the iPad Mini runs out?

I had a similar setup with an older iPod and the iPod ran out of power long before a small SD card was emptied of its photos. As a sub-question, will this cable support an SD (or SDHC or SDXC) card larger than 16GB?

Can iWork apps read files from SD cards using this adapter?

We have the MacBookAir with the SD slot and now have the iPad with Lightning. Can we pass files back and forth using SD and this adapter to do work in apps like Pages, Numbers, and Keynote? I understand the obvious just dock the iPad, but the iPad and MacBookAir are owned by different people, not the same person. I also understand the obvious iCloud and other cloud based options, but we are trying to save cellular costs when wireless is not available. We also have copyright content we prefer to safeguard on physical media, rather than the cloud. Thanks!
