Can I password protect backed up files?
I want to back-up my private mac and the photos and other media from a seperate non-wireless family computer. I don't want any other family members to access my file back-ups. Can I password protect my back-ups or something?

Can you grant password protected internet access without allowing individuals access to back up files?
I’m considering using one of these to replace my current wireless router. I was wondering if I could use the Time Capsule to grant password protected internet access to the other PC’s and Mac’s in my household, whilst preventing them from accessing the backed up information stored in the Time Capsule. I like the idea of backing things up wirelessly with such ease, I don’t like the idea of my housemates being able to rummage through all my files!

Would I be able to password protect the external hard drive part of it?
I would like to be able to store folders/files in the hard drive part but for them to be secure from other computers on the same network. Is this possible, or does everything stored on there go into a big shared area that all computers on the network can access?

What's the best way to back up Time Capsule itself?
If I want to protect my data against physical theft or fire, I *think* I would need Time Capsule's data sent into the cloud or backed up to an external hard drive that I could store offsite. Is that correct?
Would the latter be as simple as taking a 2TB external drive, connecting it to Time Capsule, and then copying Time Capsule's files over to the external drive (I presume via one of the Macs on the network) from time to time. Is that fairly easy?- Asked by Gabriel Thomas J from Petaluma

Can I use a PC to acces the files from a back-up from the Mc Book ?
I have a nice Western Digital World Book NAS-server. The WD stores alle the backed files individually and in the same directories as on the PC and MAC. This mean that the files can be accesed easily using any PC or Mac connected to the server. Can I do the same with the files from a backup on TC ? Or do I have to manually save all the files manually from the Mac to the TC in order to reach the from another Mac or PC ?

Does the TC compress the data or is the backed up files the same size as the original?
I was looking to purchase a TC but I am unsure of the size that I would need. Can the TC compress the backed up information (to save space)? Can I add an additional USB external drive if I run out of space on the TC?

Does TC work well with TiVo. Specifically I have the HD TiVo unit.
I know TiVo is finicky about wireless routers. I have had issues in the past. Does anyone use the TC or airport extreme base with a HD TiVo? And are you able to password protect it? My current router allows the tivo to work only if I don't password protect it. Thanks
