Can I use an old TC as an external drive attached via USB to a new Time Capsule?
I want to upgrade my 1st gen TC to the 2TB 2nd gen. Once I do that can I use the old TC as an external hard drive attached via USB to the new TC? Or even use it attached directly to my Macbook? Basically, can it run without issues without using it as a gateway?

How easy is it to migrate from a 1st gen Time Capsule to the latest?
I have a first gen Time Capsule, and I'm thinking of buying the latest model, but how do you go about transferring the settings from one TC to another? I'm using the TC as a wireless router as well, so all the wireless settings would need to be migrated, including security settings, MAC addresses, etc.
Is there an automated way to do this, or will I need to manually set up the new Time Capsule, by taking note of all the original TC's settings and putting them into the new one? I can't find much out there on this topic on the web. I'm hoping it will all be automated but would like to know how this would work, from anyone who might have done this themselves...

Does TC work well with TiVo. Specifically I have the HD TiVo unit.
I know TiVo is finicky about wireless routers. I have had issues in the past. Does anyone use the TC or airport extreme base with a HD TiVo? And are you able to password protect it? My current router allows the tivo to work only if I don't password protect it. Thanks

My iTunes music library is very large. Can I back the music library up to TC and then remove it from my MacBook HD?
I wish to free up the space on my MacBook internal HD, which has 250GB of music in iTunes. I currently stream iTunes from my MacBook to 2 Airport Expresses, each connected to separate stereo systems. If I move the library off of the internal HD and onto TC, and then remove the files from the HD, will this streaming operation function in the same way? And will any new music added to the iTunes library then be stored only on the TC?

can you have multiple time capsules on the same network?
Looking to replace my first gen Time Capsule with a newer model with more HDD and dual-band capacity. Can I keep my old TC on the network when I upgrade to the new one and put the old one in bridge mode to expand the wireless network? And can I backup to BOTh devices, either redundantly or assigning different devices to different TC’s?
In terms of dual-band, am I better off using the old TC to create a separate network for b/g devices and use the new one exclusively for n devices, or will the new one handle dual-band adequately so the b/g signals won’t slow down n devices?- Asked by Jason S from Cranbury
