Can different security protocols be used on the two bands? E.g. WPA-AES on the 5Ghz and WEP on the 2.4Ghz band? thanks!
I have one wireless device (Nabaztag) that only works on 802.11b and only WEP security, a desktop wired via ethernet, a Macbook Air and a laptop PC. I don't want my whole network to be slow (WEP slows things down a LOT compared to WPA-AES) and insecure, so dual band could be ideal - if I can run this one gadget on WEP/2.4Ghz and the computers on WPA/5Ghz. thanks :)

With a Dual Band Time Capsule, can devices communicate from different bands through the time capsule?
I have an iPhone 3Gs and an iPhone 4 that I wish to 'communicate' with my iMac which is set up to run on a 5Ghz 'N' network.
Will the Dual Band Time Capsule allow this to happen?
I am thinking about this all in relation to the iCloud and iOS 5 where the iPhones will be able to do wireless backups to my iMac, but don't work on my Airport Express 5Ghz 'N' network. Will a Dual Band TC or Airport Extreme solve this problem?

Will simultaneous dual-band support also work when extending an existing wireless network in which other base stations don't have that capability?
My ADSL modem comes with an integrated wireless base station. I would rather like to extend that network instead of replacing it. The reason is that my printer (which I would like to plug into Time Capsule) and the ADSL socket (which I need for Internet access) are located in different rooms. So I cannot plug in both into the same base station. However, the ADSL modem does not support simultaneous dual-band: you need to choose one. Will that also prevent Time Capsule from working with both bands simultaneously?

can you have multiple time capsules on the same network?
Looking to replace my first gen Time Capsule with a newer model with more HDD and dual-band capacity. Can I keep my old TC on the network when I upgrade to the new one and put the old one in bridge mode to expand the wireless network? And can I backup to BOTh devices, either redundantly or assigning different devices to different TC’s?
In terms of dual-band, am I better off using the old TC to create a separate network for b/g devices and use the new one exclusively for n devices, or will the new one handle dual-band adequately so the b/g signals won’t slow down n devices?- Asked by Jason S from Cranbury

Can someone tell me how big the time capsule e.g. dimensions...width, height and length in cm?
I need to back up and move some photo/movie files off my laptop as it keeps on saying the hard drive is full. Is it therefore worth buying the time capsule or just a western digital hard drive? Thanks

Can you move iTunes and iPhoto Library onto Time Capsule and direct the apps on two different Macs to the libraries?
Seems that there are different answers to similar questions previously asked. It is highly unlikely that I would run two different computers off the same library simultaneously. A previous response to a similar question said that the programs and the data libraries are not designed to support two different computers using the same data library simultaneously (too bad). Assuming that only one computer will hit the data library at a time, will this work? Or is there a separate file that maintains an index of changes outside the library such that if one computer initiates a change to the data file, the other computer might not be able to see the change?

If I have a single band gigabit extreme and only use it to access the internet with no file sharing etc will I notice a speed increase by upgrading?
I have heard that even the slowest Wifi router supplies more bandwidth than a cable modem could fill.

Data Transfer Speed Rates?
Right now i am running a AE dual band and have a 2TB external hooked up to it. As it stands my data transfer rates (as recorded with menu meters) across the wireless are on as follows
Download 4.0-8.4 MB/S
Upload 3.0-5.6 MB/S
What are the expected and average actual data transfer rates for the TC? I would imagine a partial increase due to the fact that all data no longer has to be transferred through a USB 2.0 cable first.- Asked by Kyle M from Leduc

I currently use an Airport Extreme, if I get one of these , how will this fit in to my network? Can I use the AE to extend the wireless network ?
iMac 24 patched direct to Airport Extreme, Aiport Express on 1st floor, used to extend network - how best to add a Time Capsule to this wireless setup. For example, could the TC be used as the primary wireless router with the AE used to extend the network (in addition to the Express!!)?
