Can I use 2 Time Capsules to alternate back ups? So that one can be stored off site?
We just had a fire in an adjoining office which is "motivating" us to improve our back up situation. Ideally having one back up in office and one off site and then rotating every 2-3 days. Would this be a seamless swap out of Time Capsules? Or would certain settings need changed at each swap out? We have about 4 Macs on the network.

Can I use Time Capsule as 1) NAS and / or 2) iTunes server?
So I have a few devices which access the network at home:
- MacBook Pro
- MacBook Air
- iPad 2
- iPhone 4
- Apple TV
- Samsung internet-connected TV
- Playstation 3
- Xbox 360
I'm trying to decide on a single device which can act as an NAS, a single depository for files, and as an iTunes server to use primarily with Apple TV but certainly not limited to this.
Can the Time Capsule function as both, in addition to being the Time Machine back up machine? Neither? Maybe one? No one seems to have a clear answer on this.
Frankly, if it does only Time Machine back ups, I'll be looking elsewhere.- Asked by Don C from Los Angeles

Back up one time capsule to another
I already have an older 1Gb TC. I'm now thinking of getting another one, probably 2Gb. What I'd like to do is store my iTunes library etc. on the 1Gb TC and use Time Macine to back up that to the new 2Gb TC. Does anyone know if that's possible? Or will TM only see a Time Capsule as a target rather than a source?

will time capsule work with linksys 3000?
I have a modem from the cable company... I have a dell i7 with 8GB ramm, 1.5 TB and two - 2.0 TB drives and a 1 GB video card. I have connected this to a 32 " monitor with 4 HDMI imputs spaces... and it is imput #1. I have a loaded Mac Mini that is going into HMDI #2 with a 2 TB iomega drive attatched to it. I am interested on how I could use this 2 TB time capsule in conjunctions with my excisting linksys router wireless net work... I also have two iphones and two ipads... that already use the Linksys network along with two sony wireless computers. I would like to see if I could set up the Time Capsule to do the back up for the Mac Mini... and allow the iphone, ipads, and other wireless devices connect to it as well by changing the wifi network selction on that particular device... and still have it password protected? Oh... and also access the internet through this device as well? Do I need a dual output modem? Do they make those? BTW... the other two HDMI ports are going to be for an apple TV and a WDHD TV... the lights dim sometimes when I turn it on... I am interested in your thoughts on either how to handle this configuration... or is there a better option and what would be the trade-offs?

What's the best way to back up Time Capsule itself?
If I want to protect my data against physical theft or fire, I *think* I would need Time Capsule's data sent into the cloud or backed up to an external hard drive that I could store offsite. Is that correct?
Would the latter be as simple as taking a 2TB external drive, connecting it to Time Capsule, and then copying Time Capsule's files over to the external drive (I presume via one of the Macs on the network) from time to time. Is that fairly easy?- Asked by Gabriel Thomas J from Petaluma
