can time capsule backup my Mac using a WiFi signal rather than a hard cable?
I want to do away with cable internet. I will use my iPhone as a WiFi hotspot allowing the Mac access to the internet. Can the Time capsule still back up my Mac?

Will Time Capsule do automatic backups if it is connected via ethernet cable into a Verizon FiOS router, instead of using WiFi?
We're doing away with WiFi in our house and going with ethernet wired locations. Can I connect our Time Capsule to one of the ports in our Verizon FiOS router, then connect three Macs into the same router (using the other three ports), and expect the Time Capsule to perform the same automatic backup functions that it does in its wireless mode?

Can I use the TimeCapsule as the wifi medium to transmit a signal from my mac to my wifi enabled big screen TV to be used as an external monitor?
I have an HDTV that is wifi enabled and I would like to use it as an external monitor to either my mac air or my mac desktop without the need to connect to it using cables. It appears any wifi-enabled device can connect to the Capsule via wifi. Now my question is: would I be able to use the Time Capsule something like a "bridge" or connecting point of communication between my macs and my wifi-enabled tv to use my TV as an external monitor from anywhere in my house? I would really like to be able to get rid of the need to use an HDMI or any other cable to connect my mac to the tv.

Transferring Time Machine backups
I'm currently using a 2TB Seagate external hard drive for my Mac backups. Love the simplicity and integration of the 2TB Time Capsule. But will I be able to transfer my old Time Machine backups?

Using Time Capsule with an existing network
I'm wondering if the Time Capsule will be right for my home and current setup;
At the moment, my main router (with wifi) is on the ground floor. The middle floor has an ethernet switch (connected to the main router) and the top floor has an ethernet switch (connected to the switch on the middle floor).
If I connected the Time Capsule to the switch on the top floor, could I use it as a wifi hotspot? (I barely get a signal on the top floor, so it'd be great if I could)
Would I be able to access the Time Capsule backup from any floor? Even if I was connected to the main routers' wifi and not the Time Capsule wifi?
Could I connect devices by ethernet to the Time Capsule? If I do, could that device connect to all other devices on the network or just devices on the Time Capsule?
What security do I have available to stop other people on the network from accessing my backup on the Time Capsule and the settings for the Time Capsule?- Asked by Joseph H

Can I Setup Time Capsule in bridge Mode with my Linksys E3000
I would like to use my Linksys E3000 router as my main device. I just like the functions of the time capsule for wireless backup using Time Machine. I have read that you can set the Time Capsule in bridge mode and connect it to my Linksys via the Ethernet cable. I want to use my wireless signal from my Linksys and just use the Time Capsule as a backup.
Still connected to my Linksys Wifi signal on my Macbook will Time machine work
Thus being connected to the Time Capsule though the linksys.
Macbook to the linksys and linksys to the time cap
The wireless function of the Time Capsule are just to limited.
Will this work?- Asked by Chris F from Dania Beach

Network not visible when using bridge?
Ok, so I've got this rather extensive setup.
Cable modem-linksys router-bridge-bridge-Time Capsule. The linksys router provides DHCP. The Time Capsule provides wifi.
Here's the problem. When I connect another computer (A windows xp machine) to a bridge that bridges back to the network, I can't see my mac, nor the Time Capsule. If I take that bridge out and connect via WIFI, I can now see the time capsule and the mac. Does the time capsule not provide any wired access to the time capsule, only wifi? Also, any idea why my mac isn't visible on the network to the PC? Hope this makes sense...- Asked by Paul B from Tucson

Can you backup your time capsule using an external USB Hard disk?
I have seen a lot of complaints about time capsule drive failures and the total loss of the data in it. I'm pretty sure this ISN'T possible, but it's a feature I'd love to see: The ability to backup your time capsule to an external Hard disk via USB, or even write to a DVD using airdrive.
Basically, can you mirror your time capsule with an external hard disk?
Thanks.- Asked by Matthew C from Wakefield

Time Capsule as an External Hard Drive + Ethernet Cable question
In reading up on the Time Capsule, it can be used as a router and for storage purposes.
Some questions:
1) can the Time Capsule be used just as an external hard drive, not for back up purposes at all? Is there a setting that needs to be checked to make sure that it doesnt back up anything at all.
2) can I move files from a macbook or pc to the time capsule via an ethernet cable for faster speeds? Do I need a special ethernet cable?
3) can I also move files from a macbook or pc to the time capsule via wifi if I want, just wondering if it is possible?- Asked by Seth S from New York

Can I backup over the internet my files using time machine in my macbook when I'm at home while the time capsule is at the office?
I want to leave the Time Capsule in one place, and still be able to backup my macbook files on the road when I get access to a WiFi spot. Is that possible with Time Machine + Time Capsule? I know such a service is called MobileMe, but is it available with this Time Capsule since I want to backup several computers and external hard drives in the local network that requires a lot of storage capacity.
