My 250GB G5 (backed up to 1TB ext hard with time machine) is now full. Can i use TC to expand diskspace and leave time machine on existing drive?
I have an imac and macbook pro both backed up thru time machine to a 1TB Western Digital Mybook external hard disk, connected via firewire to the imac. However the hard disk on the imac (250gb) is now full and the macbook will be full soon. I would like to free both up by using a 1TB Time Capsule as my central hard disk, connected wirelessly to imac and mackbook if possible. How do i do this without disturbing the current time machine set up. Or can i just plug the Time Machine external drive into Time capsule and continue without loads of configurations??? I can't erase the time machine because there is important data on it which was deleted from the imacs hard drive. Can anybody suggest a solution to set up a home network which optimizes the disk space, incorporates printer and remote access to data which is all backed up.

how to store music on time capsule
can you use time capsule as a hard drive
I am running out of memory and would like to transfer data like photos to another hard drive and erase the photos from my Macbook. Can I use the time capsule or is an external hard drive better. Also I have one but it doesn't show what I have stored in it. It is only for back ups. Want one that I can access and able to view pics, documents etc. Any advice??- Asked by Robert G from Seminole

My MacBook Pro has Time Machine in the dock & I have an Airport Extreme. Is Time Machine the same as Time Capsule? Is Time Cap already on my MacBook?
Sorry, I am a novice obviously. My Mac needs to be repaired and I'm trying to find a way to backup my Mac before bringing it in. I keep reading about Time Capsule but see a lot of negative reviews. I hate to buy it esp. if I already have it. Thx!

does the T.C have to back up every 30minutes or can you put it on a slower time back up eg; backs up daily instead.
i am new to apple and i am very happy with my apple mac. i went out and brought a time capusle due to my mac crashing on the 3rd week of ownership and i lost everything i ever had on there and felt like i lost my life. thank god for the superstars at the apple store for giving me a brand new mac but still the loss of all my information on my 1st mac was a little disappointing. this is the reason for mainly buying the T.C.
i was just wandering if i can set the T.C to back up less frequently. at the moment its every 30 mins i would like it daily? i am so new to all this and am sorry if i do ask stupid questions.
any other info of the T.C would also be welcomed.

Can I use an older Time Capsule as an external hard drive (for iTunes media) and have it back up to a new TC via Time Machine?
Currently, I have a Macbook with a nearly full hard drive. I also have a more-than-full 500GB Time Capsule.
I am thinking of buying a new 2TB Time Capsule to use with Time Machine and to serve as my wireless router.
I want to move my 250GB iTunes library off of my Macbook and onto my older TC, which I'll use as an external hard drive.
Here are my questions:
1. Will the old TC be overwhelmed as a dedicated iTunes disc?
2. Will my Macbook and my Apple TV (and a future iPad, hopefully) be able to access my iTunes library wirelessly if it is stored on the old TC?
3. Will the old TC be able to back up to the new TC wirelessly?
Are there any other issues with this plan?
I truly appreciate any advice or feedback. Thanks so much.- Asked by Brian J from Windham

can I migrate files from PC to MacBook Pro with TC?
I want to buy MBP to replace desktop PC. Will I be able to use PC files on MBP (Windows XP, MS Office, photos, iTunes files, Outlook contacts, etc)?
If I buy a Time Machine, can I transfer files from the PC to MBP using the TM? Is there a better way to migrate files?

How do I add more capacity to Apple TV???3 Macs and Apple TV/Time Machine and 1TB external - huge iTunes library.
Have a MacbookPro, Macbook and New 27" iMac all backed to Time Machine. I have Apple TV (160GB)but its nearly full!! MacBook Pro is additionally backed up to an external 1TB drive.
My iTunes library is extensive and spent about 3000pounds on it in 6 months!
1.Want to see if there is a way to add more disk drive storage to the Apple TV.
2.I cant work on my laptops as they are holding the iTunes libraries. Is there a way I can just leave the Music and Films on the Apple TV?
3. Can I back up to the Time Machine wirelessly and use the rest of the Time Machine capacity to directly connect the Apple TV via Ethernet?- Asked by Paul B from Vancouver
